The Race to be Relegated with Wolves, 24/25 Thread

Good night for us (though tbh Soton are gone anyway)
Midweek results were not the worst for us.
We lost tough away game which we nearly would expect us to lose.
3 rivals all lost home games that they would all have hopes of getting something from.

Of course will need to get something from most of our similar games to get a benefit. As in Lops time home games will be the key.

Ok , let's fill the glass half full here .

1 ) We had no Cunha or Andre for Forest , but still created good scoring chances .
2 ) R. Gomes is now giving us an option we didn't have pre December . We can push him forward and not play Hwang / Guedes . Front 3 of Cunha , JSL and R.Gomes .
3 ) Semedo will be back fit for Chelsea , giving us far more leadership .
4 ) Agbadou has two games under his belt now . Will surely improve for it .
5 ) Back three of Agbadou , Dawson and Santi - we need to change something .
6 ) JSL is getting into some great positions in the last few games ( possibly more to do with Cunha being absent ) and is receiving better crosses as well . He'll surely bag one soon .
7 ) Finally - we're just looking to finish 17th , not 1st . It'll be a bumpy road from here to May , but it can be done .

Relegation battles are only entertaining when you’re not involved in them bit like a penalty shootout.

Increasingly convinced it's 1 from 3. Us, Ipswich or Everton.

Leicester are bad. Very bad.
I think this has always been the case. We should be able to see off Ipswich and I don’t know what Everton are going to be under Moyes, could actually get worse. Ipswich’s fixtures aren’t much better than ours so if we stay in touch over next few weeks hopefully we pull clear

Leicester have chewed up 2 games this week where they should’ve been aiming for points.
You’ll get some unusual results towards April when teams on the beach aren’t as committed as those desperate to survive.
It’s probably going to be a simple case of if we’re better than Ipswich we stay up.

RVN is looking like a fraud. They're worse than under Cooper. His subs are terrible too.

Dyche would be the obvious solution but would he even go there now?

I'm not sure they are worse, a huge proportion of the points they got under Cooper were total flukes. Lage 2021 levels of fraudulence.

Any team playing Faes even semi-regularly is in massive trouble by default, I genuinely don't think I've seen a worse PL player (taking outside your jokers who only played <10 games or so) since your early/mid 90s days of Oldham and Swindon being in the top flight.

I remember Titus Bramble being a bit of a punchline for a while, he was 50 times the defender Wout Faes is.

Leicester's run up to March:

Tottenham (A)
Everton (A)
Arsenal (H)
Brentford (H)
West Ham (A)

I don't think they're winning a single one of them, whoever the manager is.

The fact that we could stay up with the complete hash we made of the season between August-December just highlights how bad the bottom 4/5 are.
Everton v Spurs tomorrow very much has a whiff of a 1-0 home win.

At least half their 14 points have been in games where they were very lucky. First game of the season Spurs should have been out of sight by halftime. Saints away they were 2-1 down and second best until Saints had a red card. They are woeful and will go down with Saints.
