The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Not sure what we get out of this loan?
As already said, his wages off the books and that will be offset with another year of his contract gone and possibly a decrease in his value because of it. If he's not good enough now, he won't be good enough in the future.

Looking forward to the conversation being about more players coming in rather than going out.

There’s a chance Doyle could get a bit stronger as he gets older but he’s starting from a low point. Given this lack of physicality combined with no pace and he will always struggle in the PL.

It needs to be both.

We desperately need rid of Guedes, Johnstone, Fabio and Hwang ASAP.
Can only sell what people want to buy, I guess.

Although it sounds like people actually do want Fábio and we’re doing our best to cock that up too!

Someone will buy Silva this Summer and they'll pay what we ask as well. It might drag on late into the window but I don't see that as much of an issue as he doesn't really have to be replaced as such.

It's the others I'm worried about.

So our representatives aren’t allowed to negotiate the sale of our player and it should be left for Silva’s agent to do so? I’m guessing it’s his side who are leaking this.
My disdain for him just keeps growing.
Think you might need to read the article before you direct your anger.

I did before posting.

The likes of Dortmund and Leipzig wish to negotiate directly with the 22-year-old’s agent rather than through a third party imposed by Wolves.

Surely it’s up to us, or who we appoint on our behalf, to negotiate a fee with the buying club?

An additional stakeholder in negotiations, who is not directly interested in the Portuguese’s future but only in the economic and commercial terms, will inflate the finances involved.

I’m not interested in his future just what losses we minimise on the whole charade.

The club introducing a 3rd party who wants his own pay cheque isn't doing much to minimize losses is it? And sort of feels like the thing that should draw ire to the club for bringing that party into the mix rather than the player who's had seemingly no part in that.

Gestifute aren't doing it for free. But Guo will still get his cut as a part owner. That's the only reason they are involved. For the good of him, to the detriment of the club

I guess it’s a possibility that because Mendes has very good connections he may have a better idea of various club’s interest in Silva allowing him to negotiate a better deal for Wolves. Maybe that deal will be enough to cover his fee. Also frees up people to sort the flood of incoming transfers!

Getting him off the payroll and hopefully (🤞) receiving a transfer fee is my reason to care.
