Wolves 2 Villa 1: The Verdict thread

A sticky 20 minutes in the second half but a deserved win. Need to take chances and make better final decisions but all in all we'll take that

Considering how much we were clearly the superior team we made that harder than it should have been! Coady was MOTM for me. Adama and Neves a close 2nd.

Adama is night to day from the player he was 12 months ago

Also: sky straight to fucking Pep. Let Nuno have his moment you fucking pricks

Again the final ball was what cost us. No way they deserved anything from the game and were lucky to still be in it. Donk was great at the back.

Adama again played well and used the ball well. Assists for both goals.

Moutinho cost £5million. Just let that sink in. Someone tell me a better buy for 5m?

adama motm for me, created both goals, donk a close second, absolutely solid at the back. everyone had a great game though, except jota and neto

Oh sorry this game didnt exist as always it’s about Man City and fucking Liverpool

For me that was a game where playing on Thursday clearly showed in the 2nd half. Several players knackered from 70th minute onwards. But we'll all take the win.
And James is right - straight to brownnosing Pep

Positives - intensity in 1st half, Moutinho/Neves axis, Boly loss being covered well, Adama getting his head up for 2nd goal

Negatives - not thumping them, Jota was rubbish, Raul ragged until goal too.

Moutinho MOTM by an absolute mile. He was everywhere and did loads of brilliant defensive work. Assist for Neves too.

excellent result that - though we made hard work of it in the end. Moutinho is an amazing footballer, absolutely fantastic. And Traore was electric today, and the assist for Raul was superb.

Very happy to be up to seventh!

Agreed - where we've mostly been slow to start and come on strong here we started strong and tired a bit. But honestly I think it suits us better anyway, we're always strong on the counter so having a lead to defend naturally plays into that.

Shame to concede as it takes the gloss off but never going to complain too much after a win. Should've had at least 3 and maybe more, and while the front 3 were still a bit selfish today there are signs its coming together.

Couple weeks off then go beat those diving tossers from the coast.

Will take a 2 - 1 win (well that was what my prediction was) - but apart from their goal an inch over the line then they didn't trouble us that much.

Should we have had more, clearly yes, but we got enough.

Adama is still improving his thought process & is a valuable member of the team - Coady was MoTM for me - right place, right time.

Up to 8th now though very little between 5th & 15th (not that much more below that). Considering that we have played probably close to twice the number of games the others have had to then this is a satisfactory start.

(Neto is young, but needs to learn when to give the ball to someone else - a simple pass across to Cutrone would have brought a third).

And yes the love in for the Pool/MC match is annoying - only turned on 20 mins before the start & they were still going on about that game.

Very happy with that. Lots of solid performances, Traore was excellent but Moutinho was a class apart.

Fucking Sky. Took up half the match screen to show LPool players arriving at the ground. What the fuck is all that about !!!!!

As well as Neto, thought Jota and Jimenez were quite selfish when in possession around the box.

Relieved is the word, I think. We do look a really good side at times. Just need a final spit and polish. UEL is perhaps taking its toll but we're coping pretty well overall, I reckon.

I'm so much happier with how we're playing in this 3-4-3 now and having Donck as that right sided centre back really helps our distribution, personally I'd keep him there ahead of Bennett. Raul was great, got his deserved goal in the end, Traore was especially good first half and despite tiring towards the end still had enough in him to make a great run to get the assist for the second goal. There was a period of about 15 minutes before the 2nd goal where we were inviting pressure and struggling to keep the ball which I think was down to Thursday night as much as anything.

Jota is my only frustration really, he's almost back to his best but his finishing and final pass are severely lacking right now.

2-1 hammering, should have been 3 or 4

Villa were poor and shows what a difference Grealish make, but fuckem anyway

Good solid performance, Adama MOM followed by Moutinho

Cmon me babiez

Played well and with room for improvement.

That's the Nuno way
