Mental game - didn't play that well, but still won

Don't want to make it that hard every game, but this is what makes Champions

win without playing at your best. Thats a trait we havent had for many a year. Long may it continue. Fair play to Preston althoygh the ref seems to have been a little lenient early on particularly. Another 3 points.

Tough to watch from 4000 miles away!
However i'll take the 3 points however which way they come!

So glad we held on against that lot, and that they didn't kick their way to a point. Could easily have happened, though. We hardly looked rock solid in defence, did we? Still, another bunch of cloggers out the way. A real old fashioned one, that. Not the sort of game forriners ought to be winning, dontcha know.

A lot of talk will be about the ref but I didn't think he was that bad.

Douglas and Batth were really poor today and Miranda also had a few moments of "what the fuck" that really need to get ironed out.

Aside from that, we played a team that came out ready to nullify us and did an exceptional job of it, and we were one defensive mistake short of absolutely running away with it. I'll take that every Saturday.

Plenty to work on but I absolutely trust Nuno to coach 'em up properly.

3 points and no injuries. I'll take that.

Sounds like we've had to battle a bit but not been found wanting

Thought Batth did well today but I agree about Douglas he seemed off the pace.
I also felt Saiss was drifting out wide right a little too much and that allowed PNE space in the middle of the pitch.

Either way, hard fought won and another 3 points!

Batth was good first half but second half when we were under pressure Hugill has beating him to absolutely everything. As our resident "meat and drink" CB he has to be better against that sort of agricultural football.

What was Hugill like as a player? Would he fit into our style or is he a bit of a lump?

I thought he had a decent game, gave Batth all sorts of problem didn't look the lump I expected him to. I am not so sure he would fit into our passing style that well but there is no doubt he is good in the air and strong as an ox.

I still think we should be looking at much much better than that, he was probably pumped up to hell for this one.

Boly would have had him for breakfast!!

He was better than I expected but no way he fits in our side. I wouldn't ask him to dribble or pass with his feet but some of his flicks and headed passes were Fletcher-esque.

Ok now the heart rate has settled, really scrappy game for the most part. First half we really weren't at it and if we are honest were very fortunate to be winning at half time, Ruddy with the best contribution for us with a good save with a drilled shot low into the corner. 2nd half the possession football still wasn't there but we broke at pace and started causing them all sorts of problems. Preston niggled all game and you can see why they get so many yellow cards, ref didn't stop it early and things ended up escalating a few times.

I though Nevesh had a really good game along with Bonatini, Doc getting involved plenty too.

Bonatini gets my nod for MOTM.

Are people starting to think that Vinagre is better than Douglas?

We are blessed to have the team we have. Play crap and win 3-2

BBC headline "Championship leaders Wolves sealed a win against 10-man Preston at Molineux".
It was a 91st minute red ffs...

At least we didn't do a Sunderland

3 - 1 up at Brentford & end up drawing 3 - 3

Mark of a team who will go up to not play that well & still win
