This could potentially affect us I guess, though no doubt they'll find ways around it.

The new regulations will also prohibit conflicts of interest, such as club or national association officials owning stakes in player agencies.

I guess technically the club don't invest in Gestifute, the parent company Fosun does.

The rules eliminate triple representation - where an agent represents the player, the buyer and the seller - and also place a ban on dual representation, except where the agent represents the player and the buying club.

The Doherty sale comes to mind here. Not sure how that would be gotten around. Maybe Spurs would have had to have someone else represent them in the deal.

Be surprised if Gestifute represented us in sales directly.

In the Doherty incident, Mendes would just get a friendly agent to sign the paperwork at the Wolves end.

Martyn Ziegler been piping up on Twitter one of the journalists determined to see us get knocked down. Fact is we’ve broken no laws as they stand at this time and you can’t be retrospectively be punished.

I was under the impression that Fosun don't own any part of Gestifute, despite what's commonly reported.

Isn't it that Guo owns the shares privately?

Its a subsidiary called Foyo.

Edit:- Shanghai Foyo is owned by Guo explicitly, you're correct. Nothing to do with Fosun at all.

Why let facts get in the way though?

Basically a man who owns a business also owns another business, the first business has a stake in another business who works with a further business owned by the second business.

Good luck trying to get that to stick FIFA.

I feel like Sir Humphrey

I thought it was Guo who owned the shares but I couldn't remember how to spell his surname so I didn't include that bit!

Okay, so say Guo is forced to sell his shares in Gestifute based on this. So what? The relationship is already there and Mendes won't stop making money off deals involving us.

It's such a farce it's unbelievable. No one bats an eye when Jorge or someone like Maiola is involved with a club like City or United. It absolutely reeks of trying to build a gilded wall around the so-called "Sky Six".

More worried about us getting done for fraud on the Doherty deal.
Was with a Spurs supporter on Wednesday night - he was astounded that we got that much for him

Was very critical of Aurier, but wants him back in now!

Yet a lot of our fans still think we almost gave him away...

Both things can be true, old ground but imo he was sold for too little based on the fact he was in our starting 11, had great stats on paper, under contract and wanted by a side in the top 6. None of which means I wanted him to stay or not be upgraded. Him being shit while there in a back 4 was always going to be the case. As I said at the time in terms of value it was a lose, lose

15m for a defender who can't defend will always be good business. I am delighted we got that much. Almost criminal

Some context. Coady cost 2m

His value to Wolves at the time doesn't have to be the same as his value to Spurs now. He was almost certain to look overpriced no matter where he went, that doesn't mean Wolves got a good deal.

In the same way selling my house for half market value wouldn't suddenly become good value if the new owner ended up turning it into a pile of rubble.

His selling value was never going to be higher than it was last summer.

By the same token if you knew you were getting a new house which was much better and you wanted rid of your current house as it would just be a drain on your resource and anything you get is profit why wouldn't you sell for whatever you can get.

A bit like holding on to a pumpkin after October 31st.
