Football TV Coverage

Don't think the pay per view farce is even Sky and BT (although I'm sure they'll be doing ok out of it) no that greed has to be levelled directly at the premier league clubs (thats where the moneys going), all of which bar Leicester voted for it! So that includes Wolves.

The project big picture farce probably deserves its own thread.

No-one's voted for this, It's a proposal put forward by Liverpool and Man U., as it says on Sky's website.

If you want a separate thread, then open one. I don't think this proposal will run as I'm sure the other Prem clubs won't support it. West Ham ( one of the nine long term clubs) have already said they're against it.

This matter is/has been discussed in the general football news thread.

I was posting about the pay per view charges...which is what this thread was relating to.

As you can see I said the other issue really needs another thread or to be discussed elsewhere.

Why would I open a separate thread when I was not the one discussing something completely different (tedious link at best) to this thread.

Premier League blaming Sky/BT for the price (not the fact its PPV just the £15 price) but Sky/BT saying it was the price the Premier League requested!

Which bunch of greedy fuckers is lying?

Isn’t ever game recorded anyway?

They all are, it's just not the full commentary teams in place for every game normally.

I wouldn't care if they didn't have the FT/ HT and commentary analysis most of them are garbage.

"Premier League clubs agree to review of PPV price: decision on Nov 5 but no change to £14.95 price for those games over the next two weekends. PL has earned £5.2m (gross) from first 9 PPV games:"

That presumably excludes advertising revenue though. There's absolutely no real need for these handful of games to be on a PPV model, they're just doing it because they can. The only way I'd pay would be if a significant portion of it went to charity.

That’s an idea. £15 with a guaranteed 50% to food banks or similar and I’m paying.

There's a Twitter campaign to stream the match and donate the money you would spend to food banks.

There's an article on the Beeb about it.

Seems an announcement to scrap the pay per view games(till the end of the year or the season) is imminent.

All games to be televised but spread out like was during 'the restart' ie BBC get a couple, Amazon Prime etc.

Anyone know when they are going to announce the games for post international break.

I know its only watching on tv but I'd still like to know when we are playing with a bit more than a weeks notice.

I suppose things have been delayed by the decision to ditch PPV, but still televising every match because of the pandemic.

They'll have to announce something soon as the international games will be over quite quickly.
