Photo on Twitter this morning of Leon Clarke supposedly smoking a shisha pipe - can't get it to cut and paste but anyone putting WWFC into Twitter search will see it. Can't say I'm hugely impressed by any form of smoking among professional sportsmen

Not really an issue. Sako was pictured smoking it and Milijas used to smoke.

Perhaps Jackett was on the other side of the table, as we all know he most have been smoking something when he signed him

Reminds me of Les Dawson & Roy Barraclough playing Cissie and Ada.

'Did you have the shish Kebab's?', 'from the moment I got off the plane!'.

I have several shisha pipes. I smoke mine, regularly. Best thing about these was a sign in a hotel room in Abu Dhabi. It read, 'No smoking in bed the hubbly bubbly.' Try saying that in a 'Peter Sellers-like' Indian accent!

Danny Batth had a pic on Facebook of him with a shisha, (been taken down now), I doubt any of you would've kicked up a Fuss about it because the sun shines out his arse and he projectile vomits rainbows.
You're only making a fuss because its Leon Clarke and you don't like him.

they can do whatever they like behind the scenes, but if they want to be the very best they can be they shouldn't be smoking, whatever it is. It's small differences that help put you on a different level to others.

You can get tobacco free mixtures for them - i used to smoke an apple tobacco free version

This x a million - and we contribute to their wages so they should be the very best they can

Wow :icon_eek:

Indeed, the tobacco-less versions aren't hard to find.

What, because you buy a ticket to watch him play (or not in Leon's case) you get to dictate his private behaviour? Do you apply the same rules to the checkout staff at the supermarket?

Checkout staff aren't really judged in the same way, though.

Not exactly but I am allowed my opinion on the players I pay to go and watch (who are on our books). You don't need to be a doctor to realise smoking will have a detrimental effect on your physical capabilities and maybe mental. And it's hardly a comparison I don't pay to watch a check out girl/boy and they aren't paid (£1,000's+) to entertain 1000's of people.

I just don't think you get a say in someone's private life just because you indirectly contribute a miniscule amount to their wages every so often. The club, who actually do pay his wages, can obviously deal with it as they see fit.
It's not a judgement on whether smoking is good or bad for an athlete, and everyone's obviously welcome to make a comment on that, but buying a ticket to watch the club he plays doesn't confer any additional moaning rights, in my opinion.

Would you pay (I don't and you may well not either) to watch a play where the actor or actress spluttered their guts every so often whilst doing their play and not think "what have I just paid to watch that performance for". I pay to watch Wolves and would like to think the highly paid players do all they can to be the very best they can for the club, their team mates and the fans both at the ground and at home. But hey ho if we all had the same opinion on everything :beerchug:

Never heard of shisha pipes.Wish I'd heard of them instead I've heard of Clarke.
