My own personal thought would be as a forward but with the capability of dropping back if we need an extra attacking player on the pitch.
He was an inside forward in Portugal and at Valencia but playing wide midfield in Simeone’s 442 has no doubt improved his defensive game.
He’s been excellent as an attacking wing-back but as a left back in a four I don’t think his value is much higher than £40m.

Anybody like Lamptey or KWP? Both out of contract. I doubt we’d want to spend big on wing-backs having plenty of young talent (Okoduwa coming through too) so maybe a free transfer for a couple of years could be a decent solution
