I can imagine part of the issue for Ten Haag was that he was relacing a very popular manager at Leverkusen. That's generally quite unusual and definitely not the case here. Whoever comes in will get the "not Vitor Pereira" bounce with the squad I think.
But........ I don't think there's any...
The Chelsea player is running the wrong way because he can see Lopez is shaping to turn to his right rather than ping the ball to his left.
Lopez does what he should have done, the Chelsea player is going that way. It was an effective press from him to be fair. Gave Lopez enough rope and then...
Don't disagree it was a simple pass to Agbadou, so Lopez shouldn't be doing what he's doing there.
But, the ball goes to Agbadou, the chelsea striker cuts off the ball back to Sa, the one nearest Lopez closes Agba down whilst cutting off the ball back to Lopez, the ball up the line is pressured...
Looking at that picture............. where the hell is everybody else?! We're never passing our way out of that without a hoof, because Chelsea would have kept pressing until we fucked it
I wasn't able to watch the game last night so can't really comment on it too much.
But i did enjoy Krejci giving Cucurella a needless shove after our 3rd!
Trouble is, what we're looking for is somebody who looks at this squad and thinks there is enough to work with to get out of relegation, or somebody who doesn't give a shit about having a relegation on their CV.
quite a small pool of people to find a desirable outcome from i'd imagine
I've got a feeling that Arias is one of those players who is good enough to look good with other good players around him..... but not good enough to drag a poor team with him.
As we're exceptionally poor, he's fucked, we're fucked, it's all fucked
Arias has turned out to be the replacement for Sarabia, not Cunha. But he's not even reaching Sarabia levels of output at the moment.
Last season, Cunha would often get picked up on his stroppy demeanor if players didn't pass him the ball..... but that was because he fucking wanted to be on the...
A number of things i didn't expect tonight!
Didn't expect 4 at the back
Didn't expect a clean sheet
Didn't expect to win
Didn't expect to enjoy watching it
After a series of bad results, it's always a worry whether the manager is losing the dressing room, but it didn't look like it tonight.
I...
Surely tonight is an opportunity to get the likes of Arias, Lopez, Tolu, Wolfe, Krejci match fit/up to speed against Premier League opposition. There's just no point picking Hwang or Munetsi.
Personally, would like to see Krejci in the back 3......... because we desperately need that to work...
For me, this is the real fallout now of the Lopetegui saga. I wasn’t too bothered about losing Lopetegui as an individual. Even after Lage, I would say the clubs stock was reasonably high, but we all know Lopetegui walked because of the constant moving of goalposts and downgrading in the support...
I don't think there's any doubt that we're ending this window with a weaker squad than we finished last season with.
I think it's also fairly clear that it will be harder to stay up this year due to the 3 promoted teams not being a complete farce as they were last year.
Therefore, it's hard to...
