TV Packages/Streaming

Virgin Media an option? Their stream box is great for TV without an aerial, plus you get Netflix and Disney for 10% cheaper.
We just got the Virgin Media stream box. 100 channels plus Sky Sports. New broadband as part of the package, 1GB download through the new upgraded ful fibre cable into the house.
Got it for €75 per month for 24 months which is decent. Our last deal went from €65 pm to €120 pm after 12 months which is when we threatened to switch to Sky.
Not sure if this is Ireland only but worth looking into.

Negotiated a new contract with Sky a few weeks ago, part of the deal was the new Wi-Fi Max, had it installed yesterday, pretty impressed so far, couldn’t connect my Sky q mini box in the bedroom so they sent me a pod (extender) today and with a telephone call to a brilliant and extremely patient bloke at Sky I’ll be watching Bangers and Cash in bed tonight. 😉

After Virgin wanted to nearly double my monthly fee a few months ago, I switched over Sky Stream; I get broadband (just done a speed test and it's 220 down an 63 up), and their 'ultimate TV + sports' package for £65. They've just emailed me with referral code so that me and any referalls get 'upto' £100 in vouchers, so if you were going to look at it anyway then here's the link https://refer.sky.com/richardh-6205

Obviously double check that the deals they offer don't change if you go through a referral, no point in it if it's going to cost you money.

So am needing to set up internet for the new house and Sky coming out best by a mile. Can't decide whether to throw in TV package with it or not; to me just getting Sky Sports via Now TV seems to be coming in cheaper and gives more flexibility - am I missing something else? (@Del Woppio I've clicked your link and will use it if I go with them!)

Anyone seen any decent offers for sky or tnt sports recently? Was hoping to see a decent VM Stream offer but can’t see anything.

I get TNT sports through my EE phone contract, only available as a streaming service through my TV app but not had any issues with it. Cheaper than getting it through Sky although I probably end up paying for it through a higher phone contract than I need.

Sometimes it is just worth phoning and.asking them to do you a deal and then ask them if they can do a bit better and you might get something you dont really want on top.

No but reminder if anyone is out of contract with VM, ask to end your service and the retentions team will call you back with a much better offer than just calling them. I do it every 18 months. I always think worst case I will just cancel the cancel, but it's never been needed.

Hadn't ever thought to do it with EE so I did it this time. You just have to request a PAK code via text message and they send you one. It triggers the retention team calling you and I got a phone/contract for a chunk under anything they had available.

Now if only it worked with a mortgage... :D

I’m not in contract with anyone bar VM for internet (only service which provides fast speed where I am) so have some flexibility. Happy to take out a contract but can’t really see any decent deals.

You know my suggestion but obviously you have more morals than me :ROFLMAO:
