Joe Allen went for that over a decade ago, similar style of player in my eyes, Doyle perhaps got more of an eye for something threatening and the set piece delivery too. He just needs to bulk out his CV with some more playing time as much as anything else.
I think £15m would be about the very top limit you'd consider paying for him, I still think he'd prove to be good value at that price over the next few years and if he were to move on like Dendoncker without nailing a starting spot you'd likely lose little money on him.

Some things scale. Be much cheaper to build and maintain say 5 large libraries to cater for a 50000 people in one area opposed to 10 or 15 small libraries in separate towns miles apart from one another.
That was my thinking, with stuff like highways or refuse your services must be much more cost effective in a reduced area with a high usage. Compare that to some rural areas where you've got miles and miles of roads without any houses anywhere near, that's a big extra tab to pick up.
I bet they can find a few million sources of motivation over the course of their careers. Would imagine for most they start of loving football as kids but then it's that commitment/professionalism that takes the shine off it for them.
