Premier League: Relegation Race

Yeah looked like a real kick in the balls last night for Fulham.
Reaction afterwards suggested they had targeted it to get something from, losing it like that, will be hard for them to recover

I thought their approach to the game was shocking given they realistically had to win. 0-0 was no good to them either.

Rui didn't make a single proper save.

Their best efforts were the long range shot that was bobbling but coming through a crowd of players, or they had the scramble that I think Saiss hoffed clear, and I think part of that was caused by our own lack of confidence as much as quality from them.

By my maths if Newcastle hang on here and get something next week as do BHA tomorrow then Sheff Utd could be relegated by us next week if they lose to Arsenal tonight.

I can see Arsenal resting a few today they've still got a tricky tie with Slavia at 1-1 on Thursday so think they'll prioritise that.

I would enjoy that, when they beat us at Bramall Lane in the Champ my old footy teams whatsapp was going nuts, not all of them were blades neither. Been sitting on that since...

I'm still bitter about Jan Aage Fjortoft scoring after handling the ball at Bramall Lane in the 90s

Ah fuck. He always seemed to score against us, be it for Boro, Swindon or Sheff U, was a really good goalscorer to be fair.

I remember a 3-3 game at Brammell Lane, Jostein Flo scored in the last minute i think? Dan will correct if not i'm sure, that was a painful afternoon. I think it was the game Taylor got spat on and conducted a "citizens arrest". :ROFLMAO:

Edit - I'm not laughing at him being spat at, but at the arrest idea

As great as a win for us was, I think we have pretty much ended Fulham's hopes then. If I was picking one I'd thin West Brom the most likely to get out, but if Newcastle can beat or draw with Burnley today I think even that single point is going to help. I think Brighton and Burnley will be safe but included them, mainly as Brighton probably have the trickest remaining fixtures.

Not smart enough to get it to move Brighton below on the original quote as keeps breaking the format. WBA really need at least a point from Leicester I feel, a single win for either Newcastle or Burnley ends it I feel.

Some deeply profound shit here from Bruce

Cut and pasted around the original, so hope that is all right, Newcastle have done a great job since this was posted to move away like they have (points wise if not actual performances). Feel like Brighton could lose to Sheff Utd, could be the old cliche of being freer now it's confirmed they are down but feel that is the only way it gets made exciting again as can't see WBA winning at Leicester and think Burnley beat us or at least get a point.

I can’t see Fulham/Albion getting beyond 36 points so 3 points for all of the others will probably be enough.

That last minute Arsenal ended any lasting hope for Fulham.

Fulham don't win games of football, 0 in their last 6.

West Brom have got more chance of pulling off a miracle than Fulham. They're bottom of the form table. West Brom 3 points behind them and play their game in hand tonight. Lose that and its over.
