Wolves 2-0 Palace: Verdict Thread

I'm actually really enjoying The Athletic (cheers for the free trial, DW). Will decide whether to pay full whack nearer the time it expires.

I've said it before but The Molineux View podcasts are excellent.

If metaphors and pop culture references don't come naturally to you then don't cram them in. It looks terrible.

His style is so at odds with pretty much every other writer they have, it's bizarre.

Agree - I think his work has actually improved quite a bit from his E+S stuff but I like to read some general articles from other clubs and the quality of stuff we get from Tim is nowhere near some of the other stuff on there.

I thought his stuff on how we were planning and recovering from the long trips away in the EL were good and as good as a lot of stuff on the Athletic, in as much as it was informative and an easy read. His better pieces have come when he is writing items like that

I think his informative pieces are good, his fillers like this one aren't my cup of tea as they weren't when he was at the e&s. Not a fan of crow barred metaphors

Excellent, and a Gomez name drop as well :)

Nice one Dan. It's hard to believe we have had two years of him, with more to come.

I think my favourite performance so far of his has been Spurs at home this season. I know we lost but wow, he dominated the game for it's entirety with his quality and class. Equally, when he came on for 30 minutes at Wembley against Spurs in the 3-1 win he was equally as good! Another absolute masterclass

So many to pick from but his sub appearance at Fulham was special. A rubbish game, everyone playing like they were still working off Christmas dinner, he came on and just sorted shit out.

Nice one Daniel.

My personal theory is that Scrappy Doo's parents got run over or he was given away as a pup and got abandoned by his owners.

He's definitely got anger issues so there's some kind of childhood trauma.

Also the genetics confuse me, why is he like 10% of the size of Scooby but they're from the same bloodline? And how come he speaks excellent (if pugnacious) English but Scooby can't really talk properly?

I always assumed Scooby had had a stroke, like Popeye. (and Iggle Piggle for all you In The Night Garden fans)...

That's another thing. Fred, Daphne and Velma would never ever be friends with Shaggy. That's totally the wrong dynamic. They're all square as fuck and he's a stoner. Not a chance.

See, you don't get this with Timbo's articles, do you.

small pup syndrome

They all smoke weed, but Shaggy doesn't hide it so well, and fortunately (it's a kids show) their drug use is not relevant to the plot lines.. You can compare the four of them to "Coupling". Shaggy is Jeff, the slightly weird one who on the surface does not fit in with the others. But they all have mutual interests and besides the show doesn't work without the oddball character - Coupling certainly didn't.

I reckon Shaggy is the younger brother of one of them (Fred I reckon) and they keep him and his dog around even though they're both a bit mentally challenged.

Fred is definitely a Trumper. Velma a fanatical left-wing uber-woke feminist. Daphne is a rich girl ignored by her parents, so is rebelling against her parents by driving round in a van with a bunch of misfits, occasionally doing Fred while Shaggy watches.

You’ve given that a LOT of thought! :D

Pugnacious...

I see what you did there.
