A New Venture

Some of my random and not so random thoughts in my latest blog. Feel free to read and slag off/offer constructive criticism.
So why isn't Strong point trivial pursuit? :)

I need to read more gooder!

I did like the article btw, shows the passion for what you're doing

It’s a great effort without kickstarter. Doing great and I hope you can keep up with the success.

Done a lot of expos - main tip is don't sit at the back of your booth firking around on your laptop as most people tend to do

Stand at the front and talk to people as they pass. Have Quality street etc to give away too.

Good luck - can be enjoyable if you like your subject.

Is it a trade or consumer show? If the latter then competitions are good for engagement, will get people to stop, the more moments you get with them the more time you have to sell to them. As at the moment you are a 1 SKU supplier then you'd need to find something different to the game itself obviously, £100 Amazon voucher or something of that ilk. I'm not an expert in GDPR, but if you ask correctly you should be able to use this information to add to your consumer database for mailshots and the like

So we're heading down to Birmingham tomorrow afternoon, begin set up for the Expo 8am Thursday morning. We think we've got everything prepared and planned for: we haven't I know! The stand, small as it is, should look pretty cool, the last question to be resolved was how much stock to have delivered, with various sources saying take wildly different amounts! Given it will be just the 2 of us for most of the time, with a couple of extra helpers part-time on Saturday, we'd basically have to be selling a game every 3 minutes for 9 hours for 3 straight days to sell out of the quantity we're going to have with us! Not very likely 😂!
Good luck!!

Looking forward to review of where you are staying after the trashing of Coleshill last year.

Just ordered this and have told my sister who is big on board games to buy it as well. Shoved it on her facebook page so a few of her friends will see the link.

Hope everything is ok health wise as well

No discount required from my end. Would rather you keep the full amount,

But will back the "don't be like Kenny" advice....not just in the purchasing of your game but in every aspect of life.

Trashing Coleshill and now casting disparaging remarks about all midlanders. Carry on if she just said Brummies but she’s insulting the rest of now.

Huge respect to you on this and the success is well earned.

To be in a position to be looking at being your own full time boss is amazing and even better when it's off your own idea that you have taken from a thought into a physical product.

I wish you and Mrs Dire all the best and hopefully this time next year you have nailed every target for 2024 and more.

That's amazing, you've put so much work into it and it looks like it's paying off, lovely to hear about, hope it carries on growing.

We're heading back down to the NEC on Tuesday next week, not exhibiting but going as delegates to the Spring Fair. The aim is to introduce ourselves and the game to the buyers from some of the big retailers and at the very least plant the seeds for future discussion. Getting in one retailer this year would feel like a huge step forward. 🤞🤞
If this is patronising I promise that's not my intention. Try and find out who the buyer is for the major retailers you are targeting and send them an invite with an intriguing/unusual edge. You probably won't get them to give you an appointment, but it might pique their interest to come and see you

Just bought it for my daughter. She loves a family quiz/trivia game.

She will be delighted. I’m looking forward to playing it.
