Another I-Pod shuffle thread

I've been out of school for 3 years and everyone can choose their own taste in music.

Turin Brakes - Average Man
Tilted Smile - Already in Motion
Outkast - ?
Laura Marling - The Beast
The Beatles - All Together Now
John Denver - Back Home Again
Lightspeed Champion - All To Shit
Sia Furler - Be Good To Me
Anna Calvi - Blackout
Noah & The Whale - 5 Years Time

I'm nearly 30!

You're just out of school and listen to the Carpenters!
Have you ever seen that bit in Empire Records during AC/DC's If You Want Blood, with people listening to records in the booths inside the store? There's a young girl crying listening to a Carpenters album. That's James that is. Listening to that whilst all the cool kids dance around to AC/DC.

1min 28s.

Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club - Bob & God
Bedouin Sound Clash - Back To The Matter

Some crackers in there, Will... Incubus, Mars Volta, Bedouin Soundclash.

Ok here's mine:

REM - Nightswimming
Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4
Eliza Doolittle - Mr Medicine
Foreigner - Waiting For A Girl Like You
Jimi Hendrix - 51st Anniversary
Mansun - Stripper Vicar
Little Richard - Long Tall Sally
Concrete Blonde - Long Time Ago
Lissie - Cuckoo
Carole King - Nightingale

Bit of a decade-hopping eclectic mix. I've removed a lot of stuff I don't listen too much though so my collecton is already a bit of a greatest hits.

Pantera - Five Minutes Alone
Bonobo - Dismantling Frank
Dreadzone - Out of Heaven
Rage Against The Machine - Wake Up
Jose Gonzalez - Broken Arrows
A Perfect Circle - The Hollow
Wu-Tang Clan - The Projects
Tool - Crawl Away
Mase - Feel So Good
Kyuss - Gardenia

Jinky lecturing people on music tastes when his very first track is by Toploader.

The joy of random selection. I will argue that is the only Toploader song on my iPod and it IS a classic.

1. We Are Scientists - Callbacks
2. Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong - Far To Early To Tell
3. Stereophonics - Pedalpusher
4. Arcade Fire - Keep The Car Running
5. The Courteeners - Scratch Your Name Upon My Lips
6. Gas Club - Storm Don't Say
7. Seasick Steve - Just Because I Can
8. Foo Fighters - Stranger Things Have Happened
9. James - Crazy
10. The Beatles - And I love Her

I do think the shuffle on my iPod is a bit skewed. I've got thousands of tracks on there but I put it on shuffle when I went out earlier and still got two of the tracks that were "randomly" picked the other day that I posted on here, right at the start, and I hadn't used it since then.

I think the iPod random tries to be a bit clever and not go from one extreme to the other, but ends up repeating a load of the same tunes. There's a setting in iTunes somewhere that lets you specify just how random your random actually is.

I use Mediamonkey for my iPod, iTunes is fucking horrible.

Today's

Ayla - The Maccabees
Bones - Radiohead
Sideman - Primal Scream
Haiti - Arcade Fire
Little Black Submarine - Black Keys
Fire - Jake Bugg
She Just Won't Believe Me - Tame Impala
Call It A Day - the Raconteurs
On A Wire - UNKLE
I Think I'm In Love - Spiritualized

Jake Bugg, NWW. I'm not sure about him. I like a couple of the tracks but he seems like a bit of a cock and I reckon this is a big as he'll ever be.

Nice stuff with Spiritualized, mind.

Let's have a go myself:

Falling - Alicia Keys
David Watts - The Kinks
You're The Best Thing - The Style Council
Line Up - Elastica
I Can't Imagine The World Without Me - Echobelly
Sunday Morning Call - Oasis
Dreaming Of You - The Coral
If - The Bluetones
The Ballad Of John and Yoko - The Beatles
Alma Matters - Morrissey
