Ever changing face of Wolves

Brummies say the same and those from Newcastle (Toon?) too.

The times they are a-changing. Sadly in some ways their concept was out competed and with the boom in retail online this giant of the last century has nowhere to go and bites the dust.

M and S hasnt bitten the dust. this closure is part of a plan to reduce square footage to avoid that.

Still sad though.
I was only referring to Wolverhampton´s branch which as I surmise you correctly note cannot optimize it´s floor space as created in the latter part of the last century. The writing has been on the wall for a long time in Wolverhampton.
Their mid range model does not work anymore in cities and towns facing post-industrial decline and they do not have a twenty first century brand for the new generations of shoppers.

I’ve given up fucking about. Shop in Marks for food. And skids.

Done with buggering about in TK Maxx only to find your CK’s are too tight, too small, cutting you in half and there’s no return policy.

M&S is the only way to go.

M&S apparently are still looking at a food offering in Wolves. So the only reason to go there will remain, hopefully.

I don't wear their clothes as I am not a man from a golf club brochure in 1996.

Hey, times have chnaged. M&S clothes are very popular, surprised to see they are shutting down some stores as up until the cyber attack they have been doing very well.

Guilty of enjoying a bit of 80’s terrace fashion, Borg FILA, Sergio T and the like. Used to love Cruyff trainers but they’re a bit meh nowadays. The Pringle and golf look was never my thing but each to their own, tennis tops must look a bit weird to those that don’t get it too.

Agree M&S did have a habit of making their customers look like they were about to appear on Around with Allis but they’ve come a long way. I dunno, I just don’t want any grief when shopping and with M&S you know exactly what you’re getting.

It's a slippery slope from there to wearing grey shoes.

I'm already 44, I don't want to be reminded of it when I open the wardrobe.
