Totally fucking believable.
Seriously?I can’t believe the ineptitude of people who end up in government roles and who seem incapable to understand how their private actions look to the electorate.
And they wonder why Reform are hammering them in the polls.
Yep. Loads better since they got rid of the loony left.Isn't this the Labour everyone wanted?![]()
Centrism now is just another word for preserving the status quo. If you describe yourself as a centrist you're basically telling me you're a Thatcherite.Far right populist parties leading the polls in the UK, Germany, and France. Exactly what you'd expect when 'centrist' policies are proven to be fucking useless for most people.
But it's very complicated. There are posters on here who bang on about the 'hard left' not being the answer so I'd like to know what is that answer? Because right now the options we have in this wonderful democracy of ours is far right, pretty far right and right. And for all people will mock Corbyn and Your Party, this country needs something, anything, that offers another way. Because the policies of the current parties are taking us only one way, and that is towards Trump style fascism.
Not answering the crux of your question, but what we determine hard left in this country is still pretty much soft left in the rest of Europe - I find that fascinating. Often a result of a different voting system given ours requires a party position in the "centre" to win broad support. There are posters on here who bang on about the 'hard left' not being the answer so I'd like to know what is that answer? How useful are left wing policies that never get beyond the pages of a manifesto?Far right populist parties leading the polls in the UK, Germany, and France. Exactly what you'd expect when 'centrist' policies are proven to be fucking useless for most people.

Centrism.You offer nothing
Progressive politics needs to deliver actual progress though. Self-indulgent circlejerking, where you deliberately exclude yourself from mainstream politics because you're more interested in ideological purity rather than actually improving lives is not a brand of politics I could ever be interested in.You offer nothing Vis....its seems that for you the only options are the hard right (where we are undoubtedly heading) or the "let's muddle along with the death by a thousand cuts" that people are feeling now. People will choose fascism before that, because if they are giving any other option at least it'll be a change.
I think it was something approximating 30% of under 25s who would be in favour "of a strongman not answerable to a parliament".
As people see their futures increasingly bleak we may lose democracy in Europe within a generation.
