Do coaches teach field scanning? It’s so important but so many players just… don’t seem to do it. Ever.
Have you ever seen the video of tielemans playing with a go pro on in a pre season friendly? Would recommend - and then consider the speed at which a regular premier league game is played at.

It’s coached heavily at youth level but it’s so hard to do at the top level

I'd honestly forgotten Bellegarde was on the pitch. Has he done anything worthy of having a starting place?

No where to be seen. Shit positioning...

2nd goal... Agba cost us. If that's okay with you Alan?
That’s just silly regarding hoever. Haalands made a run and ended up 5 yards offside, unless you’re expecting everyone to go ‘fuck the line’ and run back at that stage then what can he do.

That being said first 10 he did look woefully out of his depth. But settled now.

Before first goal was thinking this is set perfectly. Get to 55 0-0 bring arias on when city start having to commit more etc. but no, good goal in the end but Haaland making that run then being drastically offside causing havoc causes it.

2nd goal is embarrassing giving ball away but good finish.

Feels abit of a harsh 0-2 on balance of play but we’ve given them a goal, and MM can’t stay onside, so Bleugh

I try not to forget! It’s why players being written off so quickly bugs me.

I’ve said it before, but I played a game of pickup football with some of the guys from Appalachian State’s football team; even at that level, it was like they were playing a different sport, seeing things that I just couldn’t. It was wild.

Doesn't Haaland do that quite a bit? I know the run was the cause on that one. I don't watch football outside Wolves really but sure I read he did it. Then hopes for that kind of build up and pass across?

Yeah, also players like in city’s midfield (and Andre I would say) are doing it a lot earlier than you imagine. Better to watch them when the ball is away from them. By the time it starts travelling to them they wanna have the picture in their head

They’ll give us a chance. We may well score. But not twice without conceding. Agba could do better first goal and second goal is all him.

Solid first half all told, against a team that has a good shout at winning 4 trophies this season. They took their chances, we didn’t.

Plenty of positives given we’re yet to see Jackson, Yerson, Fer or Arias

You don’t make space in the ways he can without doing it a ton, though I’ve never watched him for it.

Rubén was one of the best in the PL at it IIRC. Based on “scans per minute” or something.

0-1 and you can sling on Fer & Jhon and have a proper go at them.

0-2 games over, unfortunately. They’ll just pick us off at will from here and defensively we’re all over the place.

A lot of strikers do if they make the run stay offside. Or set pieces start offside don’t they. Frustrating

For the players we’ve got they’ve a decent job however I think 14-15 sides in the league would’ve probably taken the lead as City still look very ropey at the back.

Disagree. The offside trap they’ve played has been fantastic.

And to say another team would be doing X and Y is a total unknown. Silly comment. Maybe they wouldn’t have pressed like us to be on those positions …

Lost in the criticisms of the goals is that Joao Gomes has been pretty poor. He's given the ball away loads and Reijnders absolutely abused him on the build up to the first goal.
