Italy and Puma to part company from 2022 after nearly 20 years. Here comes Adidas

Hmm. The Adidas shoulder stripes just won’t look like they belong on an Italy kit.

My thoughts too, never thought of Italy as an Adidas team. I know they were in the 70s but thoae kits carried no stripes or branding

It might be a bit jarring, but divorced from the historical look of Italy's kits, there's no reason why they couldn't make the shoulder stripes fit.

Blue top, white shorts, red accents. Not the most exciting thing in the world but then it's kind of silly that the Italians wear blue in the first place.

It's not, blue is the colour of the House of Savoy.

You don't know your history of Italian unification :)

Yeah, Americans are really nailing ignoring football history at the moment.

So it's a Dutch wearing orange situation?

Yeah, central Europe pre-Germany is not really a thing that gets talked about in US schools (at least now when and where I was in grade school). We touch on Prussia very lightly. Anything beyond that, I learned from the Holy Roman Empire campaign in Age of Empires 2.

You should look into it. The thirty years war is fascinating to learn about.

I quite like them. Very different and nice to look at.

I much prefer the current/previous one

Makes me think of some cheap shit fake where they've had to put the name of the country on for you to identify it because it's so far removed from the genuine article.

I could do without the Puma being so front and center, but otherwise I like how clean they are.
