Show a better overview of the area, you can draw your route on them as a memory, and the battery life is fantastic, I’ve never had to charge one in 50 years

I still use paper maps but in conjunction with Google maps. I just like maps. I tend to plan routes of interest on an actual map and then transfer them to my phone.

The traffic and roadworks are so horrendous the potential for getting quite severely stuck even on a very short route is just too high.

Would be great to just use a map but it’s 2025 and traffic avoidance makes the use of navigation systems pretty much mandatory.

During the first lockdown in 2020, I was sorting stuff out in the house and found my old A-Zs which I would pick up when I used to travel the length and breadth of the UK. There were lots of them!
