New - The things that really annoy you

It's a speed limit, not a compulsory speed.
If you're blocking the carriageway because you're driving slowly or gesticulating at drivers who are driving at 70 as if they're in the wrong what is it then?

Also seen people hitting the brakes when driving at 60-65 because they see a fixed speed camera and think they might be speeding.

It's ignorant AND dangerous.

Is driving at 60, necessarily driving 'slowly' though? What annoys me more is lane hoggers who don't understand the requirement to 'keep to the left'.

I agree that people brake checking at speed cameras is both stupid and dangerous

Tend to drive at about 65, if going down the motorway about 150 miles anywhere as tend to get to destination on one charge, and don't have to stop, over 70 eats my battery.

I’m a 55-60 mph chugger if I’m not in a rush. Inside lane, not bothering anyone, keeping a safe distance to the vehicle in front. Lorry drivers are aresholes though as think you should move out of the way so that they can tailgate the next vehicle.

What’s the deal with lorry drivers and average speed cameras? None of them seem to give a fuck and fly past you. Do they know something we don’t?

The absolute worst behaviour, without a doubt, is ignoring the stopping distance. Done in ignorance it’s just rank stupidity. Done deliberately it’s full on moronic. Doing it to persuade someone to pull over when they’re lane hogging? Have a think about the cost / benefit you clown.

Depends on the circumstances, if you're on a dual carriageway and you're overtaking someone who is doing 58 at 60 and blocking up both lanes and then giving the bird to people who eventually get to pass at 70, then yes you are driving slowly and you're a total dick.

If you're in the left lane of a motorway and you're not effecting anyone, then no.

But my main gripe is the people (in cars, not vans or lorries) who clearly think that 60 is the limit on a dual carriageway as they hit the brakes. I experience it almost every day at the cameras coming into Worcester from Kiddy on the 449.

I saw an exceptional sized lorry, being escorted down the M1 on Friday afternoon effectively moving vehicles out of its way by being right up their tailgate in a 60mph zone. The vehicles in front of him were doing 60 as I was clocking it in one of the other lanes. Ridiculous behaviour.

I used to love driving when I was younger, I don’t particularly enjoy it nowadays and hate driving at night.
Two or three trips to Birmingham AirPort a year is the longest drive I do

Something that has got worse at night is getting dazzled by LED head lights, many of which don't seem to be on full beam necessarily, just standard and with and more SUVs they're at a height that penetrate your retinas.

For all the safety aspects we rightly have to adhere to when driving, car headlights just seem to be getting more and more obtrusive and dangerous to those they're shined on.

Obviously the other side is that the driver shining them can see more, would be interesting to see the stats - accidents due to being dazzled v accidents avoided due to better visibility.

Very hard to quantify though.

Also- 4 lane motorway and 3 of them taken up by lorries doing the slowest over take possible

Lane 1 - 55mph
Lane 2 - 56mph
Lane 3 - 56.5mph
The A42 is a nightmare for this, but obviously just lane 1 and 2, lorry traffic is significant on there though.

Lorries overtaking other lorries on dual carriageways when each vehicle is travelling at approximately the same speed

I have never understood why when lorries overtake each other, why doesn’t the one on the inside just drop his foot off the gas for 1 second. It would be enough to let the other one breeze past and also make zero impact to his journey. Rather than just driving side by side for 2 miles.

Agreed.

In terms of MPG too (they probably don't care about this though) being in another lorry's slipstream would benefit them.
