Well done to Sir Bradley who has cycled 54.26km in an hour to set a new world record...

Apparently, he was the fifth person in nine months to break the record. So we can probably expect some-one to try to beat Wiggins time.

A remarkable ride nonetheless.

He's also put an extra mile on the record. I doubt it will be broken five times in the next year. Hell of a ride

When Wiggins announced he was doing, loads of others decided to get in before he did his. Each knocking the record down by a little a bit.

Wiggins took the old record, chewed it up and spat it out.

Think this one could stand a while, maybe Tony Martin will have a pop once his seasons road commitments are out of the way. Doesn't have the track pedigree of Wiggins though.

Not really sure there's anybody else, Cancellara possibly though a little past his best.

Alex Dowsett's coach bleating about Wiggins' bike and British cycling assistance in the bid.

How sour are those grapes?
