Terrible takes.

And, at the end of last season I had a terrible take that Mosquera, Agbadou and Toti plus one would be a wall at the back, especially with Joao and Andre in front of them. Will any of the defenders start against Burnley? FFS.

Don't think the Neto one was too bad of a take? It looked like he was a freebie add-on to another player, or some weird double act whichever way you looked at it. And had played about 3 adult games
Neto was the purchase and Jordao the bonus. Neto was like £15m and Jordao £7m. (What is was declared as anyway)

Seemed a lot of money for Neto’s level of experience but in his first game (think it was Puynik at home, some EL game anway) you could see he could play (and so it proved). Whereas the same couldn’t be said about Fabio for over double the price!

I think that's confusing terrible takes with shifting realities. I don't think it was unreasonable to think that, and probably most people weren't a million miles away from that thought either

Yeah it's similar to thinking we'd improve by signing Johnson and JOH.

No, I just have a much lower tolerance for shite footballers than you do. You're still defending Matt Doherty and it's nearly 2026 man.

Santi Bueno has had a handful of reasonable (not much more) games this season, in a team that's bottom of the league and hasn't won all season and hasn't kept a clean sheet for six months. He can't run, turn or jump, and he still has the stupid habit of getting ridiculously tight to a forward with his back to goal which means he either gets rolled or it's a foul, so no, I don't think he's very good.

Yeah, because Matt Doherty overall has been a really good signing and player for us, how he performed in 2014 (?) does not matter anymore, you have literally said you "hate" him, you are always poised to criticise and never able to give credit.

You only have to look how you erased his goals and assists in Europe and our run to the FA Cup semi final for reference.

As for Santi, it's really easy to be critical, because when he makes a mistake you can point it out and say you told everyone he was shit, even if it's in 3 weeks, 3 months or 3 years.

He's had a good season so far, the fact he's done it in a team that has looked so disjointed and lacking quality is a credit, not a debit.
