It's better to let Smith and Brook just play like this and they're amongst the very best and most damaging players in the world. No good asking them to channel the energy of Graham Thorpe (who was brilliant in his own way).

It is thoroughly entertaining though but when they get out playing like this, you can't help but wonder what might have been if they had batted without taking so many risks. Brook starts out looking like he could get out every ball and then he stabilises to some extent. Still prone to moments of rashness though. This is a situation where both Smith and Brook need to grind it out to get the lead down as much as possible but they won't play like that. They'll still offer opportunities.

I don’t know, seems simple this time. Bat most of the day, get 500 ahead and stick us in with 30 minutes to bat. That said, weather might complicate things.
