It’s now way past the highest total ever chased in first class cricket! They probably will bowl us out but imagine we hang on 9 wickets down.

As for this bowling attack they’ve conceded 1,849 runs in 2 test matches that’s horrible. Average of 462 per innings

It's ultra cautious bollocks from India. If they honestly don't think they can defend 500 in the last innings then they are telling their bowlers they are shit. 607 lead is incredible. Would be so much fun to see England do it but scoring at 6 an over ain't going to happen partic. as India will slow it right down tomorrow if it looks half likely. I think it’s more likely we get bowled out by lunch than hang on for a draw so India’s decision probably makes no difference. I do feel dangling the carrot would have increased their odds though

No. You can correct me if I'm wrong but England, nor any other test team has successfully chased 500 to win. They did score 500 in a day back in 2022 as I recall. Bit of a difference between that Pakistan attack to this Indian one.

If I were India I’d be screwing us into the ground given the next game starts soon and, regardless of precedent, I’d want no possibility of leaving England with 400 to get on the final day. They’re not here for fund they’re here to win. This England team need no carrot dangled to go fishing outside off anyway.
