If Ferrari want to win anything, they need to start listening to winners. Hamilton called that absolutely correctly today. His tyres were performing but he ended up behind his teammate for three laps when those tyres were at their peak. Thoroughly enjoyed his quip re letting Sainz by. Brilliant.

Have to disagree. He's the only Ferrari driver to have won a race this season.

Lewis isn't done as an F1 driver. Chances of winning a title are slim to none though, unless Ferrari have something special for the new regs next year.

Ferrari have been a shambles with strategy for years now. The Dean Saunders of F1 "move to plan b, c, d, e..whatever you want"
Someone not strong enough to make calls and yesterday should have been simple but instead turned into their usual circus act.
Previously their drivers have grumbled and moaned but not one has called them out on their shitness....until yesterday.

When I said he was finished I was alluding to as a top/ title winning driver (unless the car is way out in front of the other teams). He’s been getting outperformed by his team mate for a few years now.

He still has excellently race craft and experience which means he gets a big result sometimes but his general pace isn’t there anymore.

Can somebody explain why Red Bull brought in Max with one lap to go. He held off Lando quite well for a good laps previous.

Hoping for a red flag. So all would have gone into the pits and it would have been classed as his 2nd stop (,had to do 2 stops as per the new Monaco rules)
Due to the gap to 5th it was a gamble worth taking as worst outcome was retaining 4th....red flag happens he wins.

Yes I know but going in cost him the win. Surely his tyres would have held up another two minutes ?

He would have received a 30 second penalty or a disqualification for not taking the 2nd pit stop. He had to pit but just waited until the very last moment.

2 Stops was mandated by the FIA for the race today. No team choice, just the rules for Monaco.
