The Music Thread Strikes Back

ELO - Last show in London now cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
Such a shame.
 
Jeff Lynne is such a good songwriter. All the stuff he did with Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and The Beatles is brilliant. Never mind the ELO stuff.

There's is a good documentary on him that has been on TV now and again for a few years now. Showing you round his home where every room is a recording studio basically.

Just listened to the Sci Fi Soul Orchestra album they have done with Irvine Welsh (Men In Love). It's an extremely funky, disco vibe that I really enjoyed, and the vocals are absolutely superb!
 
'I think we're losing now, I think we're fucking it up..' sounds a bit like our transfer window so far.

 
I've got a friend heading to watch Oasis in Toronto tonight, made me realize that:

A. I'm jealous
B. How good they really were at Heaton Park
C. How wrong I was to be team Blur as a kid (in fairness I was really pop-punk/emo but that wasn't properly defined as a labelled genre at the time).
 
Not a great song, but my wife is very proud of her grandnephew - the drummer.

Cleared out my emails today. Got excited about radiohead touring then disappointed it's just London. Then get excited the sabres of paradise are touring, but again deflated at no shows near here.
 
Mogwai announce a tour.
Debating whether to go, because the brum venue is shite, & the bad fire is the weakest album they've ever done imo.
 
Just realised I have a lot of gigs coming up between now and the end of the year.

Oasis - Wembley
Turnstile - Alexandra Palace
The Enemy - Oxford Academy
Biffy Clyro - Oxford Academy
Busted v McFly (I know, I know - my Mrs wanted to take the kids…) - The O2 London

I’d actually forgotten about two of these gigs until I looked at the calendar earlier, so looking forward to them now!
 
I'm seeing the Enemy in Oxford too next month, also seeing them in Wolves a week later 😅

Can’t wait to see comments such as, used to play tight at the back now it’s fucking shit.
Cant believe I didn’t get more tickets for this as I followed them all over the country back in the day.
I remember when when the frontman was good but it’s gone downhill so much it’s unbelievable.
The crowd as always, have turned out it numbers but don’t deserve to watch this crap.

I'm a changed man. I've backed Wolves in Last Man Standing for a win this weekend.

(although I bet Busted/McFly will indeed be "fucking shit" :ROFLMAO:)
