The Race to be Relegated 24/25 Thread

Who gives a shit about his career once he leaves us?
I don't much care. Once he leaves here(Do think its inevitable) whatever he does afterwards is whatever.

Players come and go all the time.

Do wish he would get his head out of his ass while he wears our colors mind.

I’ve never been one for that, once they’ve gone they’ve gone.
Certainly didn’t take part in the Raul chant after they beat us although I loved him when he was here.
Having said that, I’d always make an allowance for Ruben Neves. 😉

I think it's telling that a large chunk of the Nuno era get a positive response, especially cornerstone figures like Coady and Raul (and Jota, except for some weirdos). Neves and Moutinho would get the same, Neto obviously slightly soured it.

If Cunha left tomorrow he'd still deserve a decent reception but it would be a tier below those mentioned above, imo

He only just scrapes into my top 10 favourite Wolves players, if I’m honest (and I haven’t really spent any time actively thinking about it so he might even miss out completely).

Don’t get me wrong, the talent is there & he’s one of the most talented players we’ve had - but he’s really let himself down this season with his attitude/discipline - which is mad when you think about the goals he’s scored and how reliant in him we are.

Cunha in nunos pomp would have been at the same level

If we'd had Cunha instead of Traore post-Jota I feel pretty confident we'd have qualifed for the Champions League.

Wolves facing injury concerns for Premier League fight

Wolves are sweating on the fitness of several first team players for their Premier League run-in.

Matheus Cunha will now serve a ban following his straight red card against Bournemouth, but Wolves also suffered knocks to Marshall Munetsi, Matt Doherty and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde in their FA Cup defeat.

On top of that, Jorgen Strand Larsen played more minutes than planned after his recovery from a hamstring strain, while Rodrigo Gomes, Carlos Forbs, Goncalo Guedes and Emmanuel Agbadou are fighting to regain their fitness.

"It was a very tough game with a lot of injury limitations," Vitor Pereira said.

Looks in hindsight like we should just have played the kids FFS 😅

Munetsi, Doherty and Bellegarde are all easily replaced in the first team. Particularly now Traore appears to be fit and Djiga has some minutes under his belt.

Larsen we have to hope he can start the next game ok otherwise we are screwed up front. Hwang will come in I guess.

Gives you even poorer squad/bench strength and options though and we've seen how knackered the first team look already.

Look at the difference between Fulham and us last week

Tbh I probably would still have gone fairly strong v Bournemouth as you're so close to the QFs, but hoping it's not a Sliding Doors moment now with the fallout from it.

Although the injury stuff above could well be overstated and won't be as bad as all that

I think if Ipswich were closer to us than 5 points I'd have considered it too.

But I genuinely can't see them winning more points than us from the remaining games, let alone 5+ more.

I agree, just a bit twitchy about the game at Portman Road and also what the loss of Cunha this month will look like

No choice though have we?

It's that or play the kids and have a strong bench.

Oh I know that, I was just countering your suggestion that a number of the injured players were easily replaceable and by implication it's not that bad a scenario. My point is the impact is still there, so the scenario is still a shit one
