The Royals

I think that's true in the press, not so sure that's the case in the general public though with the exception of the hard-core royalists

I think there are a lot of people who dislike her, don't think she is genuine and is a bit of a grifter. They don't seem to get that that pretty much describes any member of the royal family.

I do think she married with at least an eye on career progression, but so did her sister in law who gets none of the grief.

It's easy for me, I just don't care either way about any of them and I'm not sure many other people do.

How many people watched the wedding and the Queens funeral?

Edit: 28 Million in the UK watched the funeral 4 Billion World wide
26 million watched the wedding in 2011.

Remarkable, and absolutely batshit crazy to me.

But you can't say not many people care, they do.

BREAKING: The King has cancelled royal engagements for tomorrow after "experiencing temporary side effects" following cancer treatment, Buckingham Palace has said...

Is that like a land footprint thing, or a land/property value thing? Damning either way obviously, jut curious

Got to be area I'd have thought.

Don't think the homeowners bit is that surprising when you look at a UK map - towns and cities pale in significance compared to the wide open areas.

It's surprising in the sense that 99% of people own 5% of the land!

If the aristocracy didn't own so much land property wouldn't as expensive for the plebs.

Also I'd imagine the vast majority of Brits wouldn't have a clue how much land the Royals etc own. "We havent got enough space for all these foreigners"

Well, we have.

You don't just spread everyone equally across the land to give everyone a fair share though do you? People congregate to particular places to live which creates an immediate supply and demand situation.
What would your average person on the street do it they were given their share as a plot of remote Welsh hillside?
