The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

Selling a player each Summer is probably a reality that is going to hit a number of teams but this Summer we are losing Cunha and probably Semedo already, if they listen to offers for the likes of Gomes or Andre in addition to this, I am going to be extremely pissed off. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens either but it would be a massive shame as with the spine of CB's and CM's we have plus a double digit goal scoring 9 - I am actually more optimistic about next season than I have been in a number of seasons.
I hate Jeff Shi as much as the next person, but there's absolutely no way we're selling Joao Gomes or Andre this summer. I don't see either of them kicking a fuss up or pushing for a move either.

Cunha was always going. As we've now seen the team can perform without him, I feel a lot better about him going compared to some of the other players we've seen move on over the last few years. Cunha going doesn't get remotely close to how I felt with the likes of Neves, Moutinho - even Coady, and obviously Nuno. He's a top player, I'm grateful for his performances/goals in the first half of this season, but since January he's basically checked out. We've had as many suspensions and episodes of drama as we've had goals. His attitude has been off (I know some people are saying others have read too much into it etc etc - but I can't help how I feel, and I've just not liked what I have seen from him), and it's clear he wants away. Going to Manchester fucking United (a side we've just done the double over) doesn't help my view on him either. As far as I'm concerned, he's basically gone & I now just want us to concentrate on the players that want to be here, and for us to sign some quality players for Vitor.

Hopefully we can persuade Nels to stay. I think the most likely outgoing from our other starters will be RAN - but hopefully it will be Cunha and then some of the other fringe players like Guedes, Hwang etc.

Joao Gomes recently signed a new contract with no release clauses and Andre seems very happy alongside him too, can't see them going this summer. I wonder if there is any truth in the Yuri Alberto rumours, apparently he played under Vitor in Brazil I think and VP is a keen admirer

- £62.5M from Cunha
- £7.5M from MGW if Forest qualify for European football
- Several large contracts off the wage bill
- Potential Fabio Silva sale (€20M mentioned but I think it'll be lower than that)
- Potential for fringe players like Hwang, Guedes etc to leave
- Higher than expected league finish (13th still possible)
- Rayan Aït-Nouri who might leave and be replaced by Hugo Bueno allowing us to spend that money elsewhere
- All of that on the back of previous summers where we've made big sales

We should be in a good position to really strengthen the squad this summer. We're obviously going to spend a lot on Strand Larsen straight away and with these owners you can't expect them to spend a ridiculous amount but I don't think a £100M+ spend on 4/5 players is that unreasonable really. Any restrictions are clearly self imposed at this point.

Vítor seems to have a very clear idea of what kind of players he wants and we can clearly identify talent so there's real potential here, even without Cunha. My only concern is that Fosun fuck around and we miss out on players who could make a huge difference. Look at the players we've missed out on recently because of their bullshit, Retegui & Ekitike are 2 of the most sought after strikers in Europe now, Enzo Fernandez moved for £100M+ 6 months after we tried to sign him, Adam Wharton at Palace, Alex Scott at Bournemouth, Jota Silva at Forest...

There's a real opportunity to build something special now, a team with a real identity under a quality manager who has the full support of the fanbase. Whether or not we actually do any of that is more down to Jeff & Fosun than anyone else though and I suspect that they'll be happy to tread water and leave the squad short in one or two areas to save money short term.

Without clogging up by quoting Lycan's post 12th is still possible. Palace aren't interested in the league at least until they are out of the cup. 6 points plus GD ahead still to play Arsenal, Forest, Wolves and Liverpool. Fly in the ointment is they have Spurs

It might have been a PTS article i read but was a mention of how Vitor will be at the front of the transfer activity as he has impressed the club with his selections in January - Pushed Agbadou to be our number 1 target and insisted on Munetsi.

From that we were still in a bit of confused territory especially with the midfielders we tried to sign before Munetsi.

Have to hope a bit more clarity and focus this summer, rather than random signings the manager doesn't really want.

Is Alex Scott injured? Transfermarket says he’s only made 16 appearances this season

I think he was hauled off at half-time on Saturday. Have a vague recollection of the pundit on Soccer Saturday saying he'd been shit.

Hauled off as he was lucky not to be sent off. The ref dished out a second booking to a Palace player having not given Scott a 2nd booking for a similar foul.
He has been injured for a while again this season.

I think RAN has done his time here and probably hit his ceiling at the club. Would be fine with him moving on, as long as replacing his decent goal contributions is considered
I think we might regret this type of sentiments when he has gone - its going to be very difficult to replace his goals / contributions to goals.

Also - we will need a new scapegoat for being lazy and disinterested.

The latter part just goes back to Doherty surely?

Maybe, he's been here years though, so unless Vitor wants and thinks he can get something new from him, it's a question of freshness too, for me
