The Summer 2025 Transfer Window Thread

I suppose we could look at it through the lens that we'd look so much better if our targets (if genuine) had signed... but they haven't.

I genuinely don't know what the point is with Fosun?

They've actively downgraded the squad... they spend next to fuck all on maintaining the ground (barely a splash of paint here and there)... commercial revenue has barely improved so as far as growing the club they've had little impact... if we were relegated at the end of this season and Fosun walked away I'd have difficulty thinking that they'd left us in a better position than when they took over?

Fabio is going out on loan and will be on a free end of the season. Who in there right mind paying £20m for Bob Ross..

Bob Ross was a US marine instructor, you know those sergeants that shout at recruits in films, yea that was him.

I didn't think turning down money for Hwang last summer could be topped, but turns out where there's a Shi there's a way. Unbelievable playing hard ball with Dortmund for Fabio.  Fabio!

I don't think we were ever going to off load all of Fabio , Sasa , Hwang and Guedes . I don't mind Sasa at all - but can he stay fit........ ,and even if he does he will be unlikely to be able to play a full match . What club would risk him as well for a loan ? If he does go on loan they will want to get as much out of him as possible , but he needs minding , and we're the only club who will do that . If he can stay fit I think he might surprise a few people.........it's a big if though .

Hwang - at least his attitude is fine most of the time . I'm not overly concerned if he stays . Just don't play him out on the wing .

Guedes and Fabio.......I think people ever fully take into consideration the damage that players who don't contribute as much as they should can do to morale in a squad . These two need to go - one is already gone and the other needs to move too . All his social media waffle as well - no club needs that .

If we went down we would sell anything and everything of value...Fosun couldn't really spirit that money away unless they fancy breaking all manner of company laws (especially as they have converted a lot of debt to equity in recentish times) so while we'd be back in a shit league, with hardly any players and almost certainly looking for yet another new manager (and new owners of course, in your scenario)....we would have a lot of money to reshape the squad (theoretically anyway) and would be a lot better off than we were in 2016 as Morgan's tenure was fizzling out, finishing in the bottom half of the Championship and having a little flirt with another relegation to League One, onto our fifth straight year outside of the top flight, drawing four successive home games 0-0, having spent what little money we had on Joe fucking Mason, our two main goal threats being Dave Edwards and James Henry and the likes of Ethan Ebanks-Landell playing regularly.

Not a high bar of course and the only tangible legacy they would leave at this point (so not counting "memories") would be the improvements they've made to the training ground since they arrived.

This is the team that finished our final pre-season friendly in 2016 :D It wasn't like world beaters went off earlier on to leave us like that either, the replaced players were Dom Iorfa, Danny Batth, Lee Evans, Jack Price, Niall Ennis and Jed Wallace. We wouldn't be THAT bad.

Fucking hell!

I forgot about O’Hanlon. He looked alright in the U21s - what happened to him?
