Welcome to Molineux - Mike Williamson

I suppose he's not going to be told, we need you while our current players recover from injury, then we will just send you back. Wouldn't be very motivating for him! I highly doubt we will sign him permanently, if he performs well he might well get an extended loan

Now staying until January 16th 2016 at least.
How much to buy?

Shouldn't cost anything in terms of a fee. 32 year old with his contract running out who couldn't even get near their bench when they were bottom of the league.

As I said on the other thread, should his current Newcastle wages be way above what we would pay, I would expect him to come to some kind of a settlement with them to cancel his contract with a chunk of the outstanding money paid off, then join us on a free. Same thing happened here with all of Zubar, Foley and Johnson who came to an agreement, were released then joined their new club on the same or next day.

Welcome back, to the famous Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wear that old gold and back with pride!

Good to have him on board, experience at the back. Welcome

Captain?

If I have my way I would actually stick him alongside EEL, thinking behind that is I think Batth is done for any future development but EEL still has so much to learn. Could Williamson get something out of EEL. I would like to this so.

Still concerns over his hamstring injury so dont rush him back and risk further injury. Ease him in gently.

Not a hope we take the armband off Danny (unless he gets dropped, and Ken has never dropped him once in two and a half years). He's out of form but I'd still take him over EEL a thousand times out of a thousand. Hause might be a different issue as and when he's fit, providing we sign a left back and he doesn't have to play there - although as it stands he is our best option in that position.

Welcome back Mike! Showed great leadership when on loan, hopefully he can organize our defence now

I should've said 2011-12 not 2010. However Wolves are following the same pattern as his Millwall side, almost exactly:

Millwall 2009-10 Promoted from Lg 1
Millwall 2010-11 First season in the Champ and finishes a respectable 8th narrowly missing the play-offs
MIllwall 2011-12 Finishes 16th

MIllwall's playing style in the 2011-12 season can best be described as direct. Lumping balls back to front for Darius Henderson to knock down or head at goal. His favourite formation was a sort of 4-4-2/ 4-2-3-1 with Henderson the target man and willing runners Andy Keough (fulfilling the Dave Edwards role) and Steve Morison picking up second balls and chasing defenders around putting pressure on them. He also had young player sin from Premiership clubs he couldn't get the best out of (Andros Townsend and Harry Kane) or just weren't ready. He signed some really clogging rubbish in the centre of midfield and valued size and strength over ability (Liam Trotter = Conor Coady). He also signed and played unpredictable wingers who waould have one good game in six (Dany N'Guesan).

The back 4 were a bunch of hoofballers (Craig, Lowry, Robinson) and of course he signed James Henry (one bright spot I guess) so he could whip in crosses for the big centre forward(s).

It seems the same thought process of building his Millwall team is also happening with Wolves.

IF Jackett has the last say on transfers then it looks like he just flat out can't buy players who will take us up at this level. IF it is Thelwell identifying these type of players then he's, simply put, nowhere near good enough as a recruitment specialist to get players to get us out of the division. It is probably a combination of both and that doesn't bode well for our Jez's promise of promotion.

To say this was written on October 30th it has proved remarkably and depressingly accurate

Here's hoping Williamson sorts out the defence like he seemed to last time he was here, i think a back four of Iorfa-Hause-Williamson-New LB would be really good for this league

Welcome back Mike...Good news

Good return, particularly as he seems to really want to be here - defence has needed someone to keep them in line which he did during the loan.

Intimations in the video that he is not completely ready yet so don't expect to see him on v Bolton
