Welcome to Wolves Ladislav Krejci

Coady up against quick attackers or under a high ball against a big galoot had a few issues but there's more to defending than that. As last man in a back 3 he got on loads of tackles and blocks, plus his organising.

The way we played under Nuno we conceded a lot of ground and broke quickly when we gained possession back, so Coady as one of those broke up play meant he did a fucking good job and a succesful job for that period.

His contribution was clearly immense, but I would never play him as CB or RCB in the system we played at the time as we wasn't a PL defender.

Not an opinion I subscribed to, but many did at the time. Surprised you've been met with so much disagreement.

Tend to agree. The mess our defence is in right now, I don’t think Conor Coady comes in and fixes that. Which was the point been made wasn’t it? We need last years version of Agba or a Willy Boly.

£30m on this guy? Seems to have no outstanding attributes
It’s a big fee, but I felt sorry for him today. He was clearly up for it and the early booking just meant he had to play within himself. He was lucky not to be sent off with that absolute TWAT in black, because he clearly waved an imaginary yellow card after getting elbowed/shoved late on in the second half and I believe that’s a bookable offence. Either the ref completely missed it or after 85+ minutes of giving Newcastle absolutely everything, finally took pity on us.

He looked neat and tidy. I’d have preferred we signed an actual midfielder and had him playing in the backline instead.

Gully summed it up well on Twitter. “Looks like a CM playing CB and a CB playing CM”. Don’t see him transforming us in any particular way and that’s what was needed.
