Welcome to Wolves Vitor Pereira

I reckon he was told we would renew his contract if he kept us up.

Doubt it will change any exit terms, just about rewarding Vitor for what he did last season. A bit like the Cunha contract in January and the one JSL is expected to sign.

Then they should have done it immediately.

Yeah, I agree in an ideal world.

But it was reported that they were focusing on the transfer window (lol) and then would sort the contract, which is what they've done.

I'm sure Pereira would be a bit pissed off if they went back on their word because he has had a bad start, most of which is their doing too!

Ben Jacobs reporting that Vitor has signed the new contract

To me, the only thing that matters is if he's a good manager or not.

I think he is.

He's got a tough job on his hands but I'm happy with him.

Broadly speaking I'm happy with him too.

I do just worry about us potentially making one of the worst starts ever in the history of the league. If Saturday goes badly then we're in a huge hole as I cannot see us getting anything away at Spurs now they have a proper manager and then it's Brighton who for years have turned us over at Molineux.

Doesn't matter how good a manager he is, that would be a huge hurdle to clear. All of a sudden you're asking him to get a respectable 38 game season's worth of points in 31 games, with a pretty modest squad where morale will inevitably be on the floor.

All looks much better if we win on Saturday.

I think the concerns are fair but I’m not sure sacking him and bringing someone else in actually helps the situation though?

For me, our best chance is to back Vitor for 20 games and hope he pulls it out the bag.

Nuno isn’t coming back and so realistically you’ve got Dyche or someone similar instead, and I’m not convinced it would be any better.

Leicester would have probably had a better finish if they’d kept Cooper last season instead of bringing in RvN.

Managers just don't survive that kind of losing run though. Doesn't matter who you are.

If we kept losing every single week he would get sacked.

We never would, but if we had a manager lined up before sacking who we had coinfidence in that they were a step up then I'd be tempted to pull the trigger in two games time depending on results. But given it will never happen, it does make sense to stick by him (not sure a new contract makes sense however)

We’ve made our bed now and we have to see what happens.

It’s a stupid position to be in but, that’s the Fosun way.

Newcastle was genuinely okay on Saturday given the circumstances. We just need to be in a position where by we aren’t asking JRB and Munetsi to come on and win us the game
