Hoops rather than stripes isn't it?
If you're having a third strip to commemorate history, then it needs to be the same colours and design of the original imo. Whether that's plain, stripes, hoops, squares, circles, polka dots is irrelevant.

Just as long as they don't put that curved line n the back of the shorts!
When I saw that at first, it was United in white shorts (worn stupidly like a long skirt below the knee) and from the back it looked just like they were wearing white baggy nappies that were full.
Simply stunning that a designer thought that was a good look.
