Wolves Kit Thread

I've seen several comments on Twitter about people buying a dodgy knockoff strip from DHGate.

I get that the price is very cheap compared to the real thing, but surely the quality is very questionable? And surely you can spot a knock off from a mile away.

I'd never buy one personally but just wondered if they are as bad as I think they must be.
My eldest bought one from a dodgy source. When my youngest got his in the sale there was a noticeable difference in colour with the dodgy one being more orangey.

A few years ago 2 of the lads who played 5aside with us had the black Adidas away shirt - one from DH Gate and the other from the clubshop. The only noticeable difference was that the pinstripes and trim on the DHG one was way yellower than the authentic one

They have certainly come a long way from getting an awful snide top from Spain as a kid 25 years ago

Much prefer kitgg to DH

There can be problems with sizing too from these dodgy sites. I have bought Napoli and Italy shirts off them at my normal size and when they arrive I look like I am wearing fetish gear. I have the current Italy shirt which I bought off them, its 2-3 sizes bigger than my normal and unwearable. I tried a Real Madrid away shirt on in Sports Direct the other day, my usual size and fitted fine even though I put it on over my tshirt

Yeah what Del mentioned probably effects it. I stick to the one site(person) and go 1 size up, maybe 2 if you like a quite loose fit. Always fit the same. They go into the same factory and get them and I believe they add the patches/customisation themselves before sending.

My expertise on this comes solely from playing the board game The Wolves, and in that you can build both dens and lairs, but to build a lair you have to upgrade a den. Hope that helps. 😂

(Its a great Risk style area control game by the way).
Far too clever for an old git like me 🤣

Trip out this morning that meant I was near Molineux, so popped in to the club shop.

Few things
- Like both the kits after seeing them
- We need a stock up on a lot of stuff
- The most popular top and currently has very limited stock - The black keepers top.

Ive been instructed by both my boys that I must go into the club shop and check out the actual kits in the flesh if I go to the Celta Vigo game.

For me the mid 90s shirts and the LCS/Sporting Bet shirt we wore in 2009-10 were the perfect Wolves gold, though having Googled both they look different shades in every picture depending on lighting

I bought that sportingbet shirt, first kit back in the PL under Mick as I recall. Sadly it's orange, not gold.

I'm 46 and not from Wolverhampton, didn't see many Wolves shirts when I was a kid down south in Hampshire. My first shirt was bought for me by my older brother, not sure if it was the current shirt that season - it was the Wolf head shirt with umbro diamonds down the sleeves and no sponsor - the long sleeved version - a fucking belter of a shirt.

I didn't have another shirt until my last year of primary school, the Manders kit and my earliest memories of Wolves were really my brother's, whose room I used to explore while he was away with the navy - he's fifteen years older than me.

So for me, and I never really had a physical reference for it, only the posters from old shoot and match magazines, programmes, postage stamps and newspaper cuttings - but the yellower gold is the real Wolves gold for me. Maybe this current gold is yellower but I really like it...

It seems to be popular too, so a bunch of old farts arguing about what the colour should be is largely irrelevant - this is the current colour in a vast ocean of different colours and seems to sell very well. Ten year old kids don't give a fuck what colour the shirt was in '53, '60, '74, '80 or '93. This is the colour their heroes wear today and will influence their own idea of what Wolves' gold is.

Short sleeve GK shirts give me the ick.
It's irrational, but still.
Who can remember a UEFA cup game in the mid to late 90's where a GK wore short sleeves?

Jim Rosenthal on ITV's coverage was incensed, he told the referee at HT that is was against the rules, and proud as punch announced that the referee would get the GK to change shirts - which he did, but it still had short sleeves lol.
