Hit it straight at a defender who ducked, leaving the keeper unsighted...
Take it though...

Seriously tho Poland trying shithousery against England won’t work especially considering how many shithouses we have ourselves.

Shocking from Walker and Stones there

That's just annoying. Should have done better.

Games left Andorra (a) Hungary (h) Albania (h) San Marino (a) 8 points will be enough due to head to head with Albania, 7 will probably do it.

Conor should get a bit of game time then looking at that lot. ;)

Game management is clearly Southgate's weakness. He deserves huge amounts of credit but we might need someone else to get us over the edge.

Emotional return for Big Sam...

One of the deepest squads in the world and no subs again…

When the opposition changes 50% of its outfield players then that extra energy is going to make a difference.

Southgate failed to manage the game again. Ultimately it doesn't matter, but as great as he is with the media and the squad off the pitch he holds them back on it. That isn't going to change
He's a bang average manager. No team in the PL would touch him.

England were poor for most of the game in that their tempo was non existent and any interplay was done mainly on the left wing. Zero men running into the box and no third person running centrally against two of the most immobile centre backs in world football.

It was inept management.

It's weird though. he's clearly done a fantastic job since taking over. Like, we are actually good in tournaments and there is clearly thought behind everything we do. The in game stuff we have seen in the major games against Croatia and Italy were we have struggled to regain early momentum we had. Johnny's absolutely right that a PL team wouldn't touch him unless for sentiment like Palace, but that doesn't really matter.

I'm quite happy to have him as the England manager if I am honest. It's the first time I've properly liked the England team.

I'm struggling to think of better options at international level.

Eddie Howe has far more talent than Southgate but it's an unlikable bellwhiff of a man.

Southgate would do worse than employ him as an assistant though and Southgate can handle all the media and player stuff.

I think this is why Steve Holland is pretty important tbf!

Graham Jones I think it is who is back at Newcastle now was helping him during the Euros. Newcastle were a far better team when he arrived to help Bruce. Maybe Southgate should get him back full time, added bonus of making Newcastle even more shit again…
