Betting Thread

Congratulations, HW. If I might ask (of either of you):
Did you go for the platinum or diamond option, and do you wish you'd picked the other one?
Is a paid service necessary, or could you do this alone?
Also, are you still able to make a reasonable profit (not sure what I mean by that, really; hundred a week or so?) once the new-customer offers have all been used?
Is this truly open-ended or does everyone just end up getting banned?
I've used the matched betting blog which is free but you are reliant on him finding the offers. There are companies that continue to do offers after the new customer offers have gone which you can still make money, only to a lesser degree. I probably making £20 a week without extending to outside of the 6 or so that I've signed up to. I'm finding that the reload offers are getting more complicated to try and make on rather than just a straight, bet on this and get a free bet - for examples bet builders.

I'm only banned from offers on one bookie (pp), whereas others haven't told me that I am but I can see they are offering free bets but I don't get included in the offer.

Lol I'm only restricted on Paddypower too. Though that was my own fault for making it too obvious, betting silly non rounded stakes like £21.76 regularly on their 14up NFL offer.

You will get grubbed by many bookmakers which means you can still use them but no offers, no best odds guarantees, restricted stakes etc.
You can do it alone but a service saves a massive amount of time, and it does get time consuming once the initial offers are taken up. Oddsmonkey costs £18 a month.

The real world problem which some people dependant on there circumstances will have to consider, is if they go for a loan or mortgage to your bank and they look and see over the last 6 months you are constantly putting money in (they are not interested in the taking out) of 20 plus bookmakers then it is going to raise a red flag that you have a problem, and they won't be interested if you are up or down, in their world they only see the tradition view that the bookies win eventually.

That's an interesting point, and one I imagine many overlook to their cost. I wasn't aware that Big Brother monitors how you spend your money as well as how you pay it back. That's a bit disturbing generallly, tbh (though, fortunately, not a problem I'm likely to face). Oddsmonkey a fair bit cheaper than Outplayed, then. I wonder if their quality differs accordingly.

As for the bookies, I don't gamble often, so I'm not worried about restrictions. I only have one account atm, and I'd keep that one clean. So, it looks like this is a hit-and-run operation rather than regular income. Grab what you can and then it dries up.

Thanks for the response.

Never used outplayed one, found oddsmonkey good for what i needed, also have deals with some of the exchanges which mean you pay no commission which helps.

Depends how you go for it, some go in hard and heavy trying to maximise everything and get done quickly, also depends on the bookies some like betway are very quick off the ball.
I got a good 3 years at a steady €50 a week on the reload offers (like sniffer only 7 or 8 bookies) but kept under the radar as I do lot of small bets anyway and on the offers didn't try to maximise them all.
Suppose banks can't tell you how to spend money, but they will be worried how you will pay it back if they perceive you have a gambling problem

I chose the basic option because I did not want to get involved in casino offers.

You can make a hundred a week after the sign up offers but it means doing lots of reloads and that can take up a lot of time. I’m too lazy for that. I just do bet clubs and the odd boosted offer.

I am going to do it on my own when my year subscription finishes. There are a lot of places online where you can see daily offers and there are some free match betting tools online.

I expect to of made approx £2500 in my year with not much work, I will be happy making £100 a month for very little work when I strike out on my own.

Valuable info. Thanks, HW.

Looking into this a bit more, do you not just end up with all your money tied up in various accounts because you need enough to cover off the lay bets each time?

You do have to have some money in your exchange account for that very reason, but once you have that initial capital in there, it can just sit there and be used to make profit. And you can withdraw it all at any time you want.

Obviously the bigger amount you have in there, the bigger bets you can make and get more potential profit.

Anyone using the 888 sport offer of a free bet each game day of the World Cup with a qualifying bet? Stuck mine on but the instant free bet hasn’t arrived yet but the offer itself seems to the best out there (if the freebie arrives).

I’ve done so many Workd Cup bets, I’m losing track!
I‘ll have to check all my bookies accounts every morning to see where I stand!
I do think there is some nice profit to be made over the next few weeks.

Boo - 888sport have banned me from the free stuff that they advertise.

I got banned from their promotions as soon as so signed up despite only ever signing up to about 3 different sites.

Not matched betting but another strategy for you. Skybet's Acca Freeze. Like printing money seriously.

I've been doing it for 2-3 weeks at low stakes £1-3 accas and am about £200 up.

You basically get to freeze one leg of a 5 fold acca. So you pick a big priced underdog, wait for them to score first then freeze that leg as a winner (wins no matter what else happens). You fill the rest of the 4 legs with short priced "bankers" to help the acca come in.

You'd be amazed at how many times a massive odds on favourite concedes first. I just had two today. Bayern away at Darmstadt and Porto at home to Vizela. £3 stake on each acca, won £165 back. I did cash out for less on the first one though as I was sweating on the last leg ruining both the accas and getting nothing. Luckily it won very late on, Porto conceded and I won both of them.

Think I've had 5 or 6 come up so far, out of about probably 20 or so attempts. But the odds are that big when they do hit they wipe out any small losses. On those 2-3 weeks I've only had one weekend where none of the favourites conceded.

Oh and you only get 5 freezes per calendar week. Max stakes is £20 but I know someone who got the feature taken off his account because he was winning too much at higher stakes (£10).

So it’s a licence to print money except you can’t access the big money as the facility will be removed if you make any decent returns.

Theres a surprise.

Maybe Pad but that's the same as any bookies, they'll stop you if you win too much. if I keep it low enough stakes I might get away with it. People are doing it regularly according to the guy who told me about it.

Just had ANOTHER one come in too. Made £250 today. Look forward to them restricting me on Monday.

Well they finally put a stop to me after I was about £500 in profit for the last 6 weeks.

Anyone got a Skybet account they don't use? ;)
