Coffee

Still love my Aeropress and the day I can justify £500 on making espresso is the day I know I've made it in life 😂

I think my money would be better spent on investing in a decent grinder and getting better quality beans.
Mine was a lot less than that! Bean to Cup machines are always very good value on Amazon warehouse.

Yeah, I know you can get cheap ones, but I'm not sure they'd make better coffee than I can with an Aeropress.
Happy for recommendations mind

Strictly decaff now, though I try to sneak a decent cup in now and again.

I've used an aeropress a lot and do like it - if you like a long shot, as I do, then i think you get a better stronger coffee from a machine. Uses more beans though.

Generally agree on spending the ££ on such a thing but been a tough few months and will be a bit shit for a while longer and after cancelling 2 holidays, bit of spare cash was available and decided a treat was in order.
My last coffee machine gave up and been missing a proper brew so we went all in on the treating side and got something that will be used a lot and can maybe possibly semi justify the outlay.

I will then contradict myself later down the line when I refuse to pay for something because it's slightly over priced.

As i despise coffee and hot chocolate i will stick with my kettle for a cup of tea. Everyone here thinks I have two heads or something for not liking coffee but i am easy with this fault in my make up
You must be getting close to the age where you have one of these

If others drink hot chocolate a good persuasion point.

Wife used the milk jug part last night and popped in some Lindt choc powder with the milk. Lowest froth setting and it makes a lovely smooth hot chocolate.

A simple bit I like about this machine is all the small accessories for it are stored within the machine.

Could be a good route, I think I'll get one might be in around 12 months but I can wait. Cancelled Nespresso membership so I can build up cash towards one.

Been considering upgrading my Nespresso machine to a Creatista/Lattissima. Both have milk option all-in-one

Then thought if I'm going to spend a decent whack, I could just go for a bean to cup machine

Done a quick search and seen a few people mention them. Any recommends having used yours a while?

(Mainly drink double espresso + small amount of milk, so a cortado/flat white ish I suppose. Right now I can never be arsed to use the separate Nespresso milk thing so it ends up luke warm)

Are you after something where you can just press a button or do want to have a little more input?

Press buttons if I'm spending a lot. Do you mean input like adding the milk myself or pressing more buttons :D?

A lot of the less expensive (definitely not cheap!) been to cup machines require you to do extra steps to add milk.

Best advice is learn to enjoy black coffee.

Do bean to cup machines do decaf beans too? I don't even know if they're a thing tbh.

I have to stay away from strong caffeine because of my stomach/bowel.

I mean do you want to grind the beans yourself, weigh the dose, tamp it, extract the coffee and spend hours trying to get better. Or do you just want to pour beans in and press a button and get a drink out? You can get machines like the ninja luxe that are like a go between those two and fall between the two stools. But it depends what your looking for and also depends way you mean by “a lot”.

I was imagining just putting beans in and pressing a few buttons

I think I am looking at the inbetween ones right now (with the espresso arm thing, excuse my coffee words). Are they meant to bridge the gap between straight bean to cup and an actual proper espresso machine that you'd do yourself?

Reading the above makes me very happy I’m a tea drinker!
