Is this place finished? The post count seems to have rapidly reduced and so many of the frequent and interesting posters are gone.

I still pop on here two or three times a day but it's like a ghost town. It's been a great forum over the years but seems like it's done.

I was going to ask the other day, Kenny, Paddy, Tony and MarkAKAJim seem to have disappeared off the top of my head

Kenny is having a break
Paddy has no Internet and to be fair hasn't posted very much for a long time
Tony said he wasn't coming back but did make a brief return the other week
Mark probably realised it was a poor use of time to spend dozens of hours a week discussing a team he doesn't support

I post far less than I used to since I decided to get a proper job

Suspect there's a certain level of apathy with how things are at the mo, exacerbated significantly by the international breaks, which always make the forum phenomenally quiet.

We’re totally listless as a club and it’s reflected in the mood here, I think.

Things change; I miss some of the old mainstays circa when I joined, but good posters have left before. NorwayFB comes to mind.

Also, let’s not kid ourselves; the conversations here have been the same for at least 11 years:

Constant arguing among ourselves.
"I told you so".
Relentless negativity.
Arrogance and telling people to stop posting.

Two weeks ago most posters seemed convinced we would lose badly to both Spurs and Brighton. Two draws later and any outsider reading the Brighton verdict thread would assume we lost 5-0.
The doom-and-gloomers have a monopoly. Why would a happy clapper or fair minded fan contribute or even want to read this constant and ever more extreme negativity.
Come back, Kenny!

Apathy, pure and simple. Most of us on here are, generally, in agreement with the state of the team and the causes of the situation. I don`t post much because I would, mainly, be repeating what countless others have said previously. We are a forum and everyone is entitled to an opinion and if I don`t agree with them I have no desire to get into a "is, ain`t, is, ain`t, is, ain`t" round of posts.

There's not much to discuss is there?
We don't have a very good team, we pay a good chunk for a ticket and Jeff is a twat.

Pretty sure I've summed up all discussion points - though we can add some variety by discussing which of Munetsi, Bellegarde, Hwang, Doherty, Bueno, Arias, Agbado or Jackson is our worst player.

Still can’t get my head around why it’s taking so long to finish painting the roof. Does look good on the bits they’ve done though, so there’s that.

Bear was another prolific poster, yes I know he was banned

It's something I've noticed also and is a shame, but I think there is quite a lot of apathy around the club. You see similar attending in-person, fewer people attend as frequently (myself included) compared to pre-Covid for various reasons.

I feel José 'three saves all season' Hologram Sa belongs in this list

Be a real shame if it dies. For the most part Ive enjoyed my 13 or so years on here, dont always agree with everything and occasionally get irritated by some posts but thats all good, it's the nature of a forum and of course football forums tend to be inhabited by people who are passionate.
The other downside is I'd be obliged to spend more time on the mix😁.

Oh, I forgot about him. Definitely, I saw a stat showing he had the worst player rating of any keeper so far this season
Could you guys stop me so darned negative please. People will be flooding out of here like it’s Molineux in the 85th minute.

Always thought the match analysis on here was first class, and the general club chat really helpful in understanding what was going on at the coalface and in filling in the gaps that occur when you’re only attending spasmodically yourself.

Enjoyed the Social chat too, nice way to pass half an hour or so with a coffee and some quite interesting posts and topics crop up from time to time.

Always going to be a danger of a downturn with any forum when prolific contributors aren’t around any longer, and difficult for disagreements not to become repetitive or slip into a nasty unpleasantness. Would imagine it’s a sign of the times though and must be increasingly difficult trying to facilitate any healthy debate when options are so polarised and there’s not a lot of listening to reasoned arguments on any subject anymore.

Not sure how any of that changes but it would be a terrible shame if there was a steady decline to fewer and fewer contributors or just a sterile echo chamber. Hopefully it’s just the apathy and general malaise which is probably understandable given everything going on on and off the field and we’ll all respond more positively as things eventually improve. I do hope that’s the case, it’s been a cracking forum over the years.
