Diogo Jota.

Awful news and it’s been a rollercoaster of a day. My wife went into labour this morning and then delivered a healthy baby at 1pm and then I see all this and hear all the tributes on the radio and I’ve been all over the shop. Absolutely tragic, those poor kids, poor family. Just awful
Congratulations mate. Bitter sweet day.

Congratulations mate, life goes on...

Congratulations Punts.

Right mix of emotions for you. Congratulations.

From that first friendly game against Leicester where he left Harry Maguire on his arse you knew he was a special player, different gravy to what we'd seen up to now. He absolutely smashed the "foreign lightweight from Portugal" nonsense by smashing defenders as much as he got smashed, a proper little terrier and a player you couldn't help but love. A privilege to have ever watched him play for Wolves a player none of us will ever forget.

Off the pitch it's clear he was a good man, with a loving family whom must be going through unimaginable pain at the moment. His legacy will forever be caught on film and then means we'll always be able to keep memories of him, and the way he made us feel.

Saw his debut (like many of you) against Boro and thought he was quite selfish and stroppy. Quickly worked out it was just because he was too good for us and we didn't have a team on his wavelength at that point

I think it was the Millwall game when I first thought, 'wow this guy is special'. When he burst between two players on the halfway line, carried the ball forwards and then rifled the ball into the bottom corner.

Was that the same game that he was smashed on the left touchline and a few minutes later sprinted to the other wing to put the guy who fouled him in the stands?

Congratulations! I know it has been soured a bit but you have so much to look forward to and enjoy with your new arrival. We all needed some good news after the last 24 hours. Best wishes to you and your family.

People forget that we weren't always *that* convincing very early on under Nuno.

Lost at home to Cardiff (got Warnocked and no complaints)
Only just scraped a draw at home to Bristol City (who haven't won here since 1931)
Needed a last minute winner at home to Barnsley
Well beaten at Bramall Lane

All inside the first 10 games.

That Villa win was what really cemented us as "yes, these guys are the real deal", particularly with Steffa Barnes sounding off in the media for the entire week leading up to it, and Jota more than anyone else made that night happen.

Also I think it's been touched on earlier, but that caveman Cotterill blatantly telling his players to "go out and smash Jota early on" at St Andrews, like it was 1986. So his massive oaf Marc Roberts does so with a challenge after 5 minutes that was 100% a red card but the ref bottled it.

What did Diogo do?

Give the clogging shit a load back, so by the end he was the one who will have felt he got thrown around like a rag doll.

Go on lad.

Yep, absolutely. I never forgot that.

He came off with ripped socks and a cut eye, but 100% the winner in ability and being the gnarliest bloke on the pitch.
