Farage Ltd and Similar Watch

Is this the same partner who Farage forgot had bought a house in Clacton for him, then remembered she had bought it because he would pay less tax, but it turned out she couldn't have bought it because she doesn't have any money? That partner?

I’m probably less critical than others and have lower expectations of morality when there’s some bending of the rules to the point they creak as long as things stay legal, but I’m struggling to work this one out.

Looks to me like people are barking up the wrong tree with the ‘buying himself another home in her name to avoid a higher rate of stamp duty thing’. That doesn’t make sense. She’s on the deeds, it’s her home not his. You don’t just hand over that sort of wedge to your partner to buy a place in her name either.

Certainly difficult to see how she would have the resources herself so funding support would need to come from somewhere. My guess would be the funds are legitimate and primarily via Nige, with some intricate financial planning and legal structure whereby the long term benefits far outweigh the risks of funding a property in her name or paying the extra stamp duty - that’s where it becomes way beyond anything I’m familiar with and where his City mates and advisers earn their money.

Going to be interesting to see what happens with this fraud investigation. Understandable why people would like the paper trail to ultimately land at his door but I’d be very surprised if there’s anything in that. More likely it’ll reinforce what we know about his morality and the company he keeps, which unfortunately falls on deaf ears on that side of the fence. However, if it is darker than that then things could begin to get very interesting.
