General Wolves News

Football is in part about taking advantage of luck when it comes your way. We did that as when we came up we made an pretty audacious move in some of the targets and players we had, and it meant we were able to benefit. That is pretty stark in comparison to some of our targets and signings since, and how when there have been bits of fortune (underperforming from usually consistently big teams) we haven't been able to take advantage.

I also enjoyed the bit whereby he said that he loves playing football manager and (paraphrasing) it is frustrating that in "real life" football, that players don't develop as you would expect them to, or basically in a linear fashion like they would do on FM.

Essentially explaining why we spunked a load of money on Fabio Silva (one of the hottest prospects on FM at the time) and why Jeff was so smug when we signed him, and called him a generational talent.
Just changing the sombre mood for a bit... on the points above I recall several years back there was a Wolves supporter on one of the social media platforms that basically everything he said was fiercely critical of Wolves and the set up under Fosun and Mendes link up.

On Fabio he consistently said from the off that he (Fabio) had been purely scouted on Football Manager.

Turns out he was right all along!!

So, who will be captain next season?

Agbadou seems to be a fans favourite, but Toti getting it against Palace when Semedo was absent suggests he might not be as far up the list as we think, depends if Toti was given that because of it being a milestone or not i guess.

Other options - Gomes? Sa? Doherty? (although you'd imagine he won't be in the starting 11, at least not as we get into the winter).

I'm not sure Gomes would want it personally or if he'd be suitable.

Not a great fan of goalkeeper captains. Too distant from the engine room to carry enough influence.

Agbadou and Toti are the most nailed on starters at the back. Andre and Joao the nailed on midfielders. Those are the realistic choices.

Agree regarding keepers, just wonder where Vitor stands as he did give Sa the captaincy at points last season.

I thought for a split second we’d employed Andrew Tate

Semi-related: is this the sickest wallet ever created??
