General Wolves News

Oh yeah, and the bit about RAN. Was just sat there shaking my head.

Didn't make it thru the whole video. Seems to me Jeff Shi has washed his hands of this transfer window. By "speaking with Vitor everyday" has put the make or break on him to have a successful season. "These were the guys YOU wanted." Kinda how the GM / Head coach role is played out in US sports. If one wants to keep his job, he'll deflect all blame to the other guy. BTW this is how failing franchises are run. Looks to be a long season

#Wolves have opened talks over a new and improved contract with Jørgen Strand Larsen, after rejecting two bids from Newcastle last month. New deal unlikely to include a release clause and club hopeful of reaching agreement within the next few weeks #wwfc

So we've paid him more money only for him to leave us next year. top work. 😒

There must be some logic behind it. Weird one though, isn't it, improving the contract after someone's told you they want to leave. Guess it's the Wolves way now and nobody with any ambition is going to hang around in the shop window a moment longer than they need to.

We should have told him that like many before him he will get a move if he continues to perform well. No need for a pay rise. If Newcastle had offered £55m in June we all know we would have sold him, it was just the timing was all wrong, especially as we hadn’t replaced the other players that had left at that point.

He might've only been made permanent this summer but the terms will have been negotiated last year. If we think he's over performed those terms and deserves a pay rise that's absolutely fine. I don't for a second think this is a sign that we're about to change the way we do things but I'd like to see us do more of this tbh, we need to be paying our players more. Having a bottom 4 wage structure every year will only end up with one outcome eventually.

I wonder if they are planning heavily towards selling and are putting in release clause to force buying clubs to put the cash upfront. No point structuring a higher fee over a longer period of time if they aren't around.

They can't take transfer income out of the club, it wouldn't work.

We don't make a profit

We don't owe Fosun much/anything so they can't take it back

They don't and won't pay themselves dividends

They can't just rip transfer income off the club and keep it themselves, it's not legal

I suspect there is a convoluted route via Gestifute into Guo's back pocket from wolves
