Israel-Palestine

Ah, calling me thick again...and Owen Jones and George Galloway mentioned within 5 mins what's next? Marx? Corbyn? Mao? Grow up.

Like I said, you have consistently challenged criticisms of Israel, a far right regime committing genocide.

You throw around "far left" at will, but perhaps a bit of self reflection, and you'd see where you stand.

It's fine by the way, but just own it.

There is nothing wrong with Israel as a concept. There is a huge dollop of wrong about the Netanyahu government and virtually every one of its actions in the last two years and more. I have been consistent in my criticism of them throughout.

They should be hugely criticised.

And their nuclear programme should be challenged just as much as that of Iran.

None of the above means that Iran should be considered in any way good guys. They simply aren't. Notice that the quote says concern about Iran's nuclear AMBITIONS. They wouldn't be ambitions if Iran had the weapons. They would be capabilities.

Reading that tweet as a defense of Iran is telling on yourself a bit.

The point is the double standard of the West. We make foreign policy decisions based on the mere idea of Iran gaining nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, we gifted nukes to Israel and done nothing whilst they scorch the earth in Gaza.

Iran bad, Israel worse. Both can be true.

Israel justifies its actions against Iran based on Iran’s stated desire to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth, which appears to be what they want to do to the Palestinian population in Gaza and the West Bank. So long as Israel elects people like Netanyahu there’s more chance of Wolves doing the domestic treble than of peace in the Middle East.

If we're talking about double standards, the point I was making was purely about the predictable and grubby history of far left bedfellows over the decades, who then turn around and lecture the rest of us.

As for who is 'worse', I know where I'd rather live as a woman or a homosexual, for a start

The UN has stated that Iran does not allow IAEA inspectors to visit all nuclear plants when and where they are supposed to, as was agreed in the non proliferation treaty, they have signed.
They may not have a completed nuclear weapon right now, but if they are allowed to make one, it won't sit on a shelf as a detterent.

You're talking to people whose hero wanted to fuck our nuclear deterrent off (ask Ukraine how that's going for them), so I don't expect this inconvenient truth will land in black and white world

I mean trying to compare our security risk with Ukraine's at the point of disarmament is just weird. We're an Island literally surrounded by allies, many of which are nuclear capable, with whom we're in a defensive alliance. Ukraine's situation was a million miles away from that.
