Israel-Palestine

What id like to ask Bob Vylan is what does he think would happen to Israel if the IDF was wiped out? Does he seriously think it would be left alone in peace to exist? If he thinks it would then he’s either delusional or ignorant.
Reality is it would cease to exist resulting in probable genocide and the biggest refugee crisis in centuries.

I don´t support terrorism by either side. Perhaps for balance you could have written this underneath your post.

Alternatively, what I could ask myself is what do I think is happening to Palestine with Hamas being wiped out? Do I seriously think Palestinians are being left alone in peace to exist? If I think they are then I am being either delusional or ignorant.
Reality is Palestine is gradually over a hundred years ceasing to exist through genocide and the biggest refugee crisis in centuries. One in six of the world's refugees is a Palestinian. According to the UN, the plight of Palestinian refugees remains the longest unresolved refugee crisis in the world.

The arbiters of free speech, the gammony far right are absolutely raging this morning on twitter over free speech being shown on the BBC which they also hate, yesterday.
Glastonbury festival have said they were disgusted with opinions that were aired yesterday

Yep had the comments been made about Palestine it could be argued either way, I’m just addressing the comments by Bob Vylan.
Both sides engage in this abhorrent behaviour picking either gives you a moral high ground. Both ha

Those chanting yesterday were not calling for violence against innocent people, they were calling for it against those carrying it out. Important distinction.

Really? Do you think people think that deeply?
If it was all humanitarian why wasn’t hamas denounced in the next verse? Or change the lyrics to “peace in the Middle East” etc

Thanks for explaining.
IMHO it is an ongoing invasion with daily atrocities from the IDF including starvation, hostage taking and genocide in a forever Zionist project.
Have a good day!

Yep all terrible acts but to add balance are they the only ones engaging in that behaviour.
ie October 7th was nothing but genocide.
Go back further both have engaged in terrible acts.
Both have legitimate reason to inhabit the region.

Glastonbury is shite nowadays, privileged white folk happily chanting about stuff they know fuck all about.
They’ll probably be at Wimbledon next week doing their ‘summer thing’.

I struggle with this one; the advent of Israel as a state led to the exodus, forced and unforced, of ~700,000 Palestinians who were living within the modern borders of Israel.

It also feels a bit dissonant for a UK culture I know to be mostly secular to view either side’s claim as legitimate given both are based in ideas of religious sanctity in Jerusalem.

Not meant as having a go tbc.

Which bit of 'death death to the IDF' was unclear?

It's all very clear to me, thanks, and your gaslighting type are the last ones I'd go to for clarity.

It's ropey territory to be chanting for death when you also like to wear a peace loving mask. A bit too 'Death to the West' for my liking, and pretty tone deaf considering what happened at Nova

I honestly think that the current motivation from both sides is equal, it's just that Israel have better friends. If either side disbanded their military forces, then the next day they'd get wiped out by the other side.

Arguing about history is moot because it'll not make a jot of difference to the current situation and trying to choose who the good guys are depends on your viewpoint.

I think the sad reality is that we'll only see something approaching peace in the region is when one side wins. And I think both sides see winning as the other side not existing anymore.

This both sidesing makes me sick. The IDF can get to fuck. I've got no time for anyone with even the slightest bit of sympathy for them.

You really know how to get folks to stop wanting to engage with you in good faith.

If you want to label our stances as "gaslighting", you're explicitly saying that our attitude isn't based in reality. But you haven't actually argued for how or why that would be the case.

Disagree with whatever, but don't sit here and pretend that those of us disagreeing with you are just making shit up to do it.

Well it wasn't genocide, clearly.
What was the motivation of the attack?
Systematic killing of 1,200 people in one day based on religion and nationality by a state funded terrorist group. Had they had better resources do you believe they’d have stopped there? If you want to label it terrorism that’s fine but you absolutely can’t believe that makes it less abhorrent
