Its hard to see how, given the scale of his failure with the entire machinery of the Labour Party behind him in 2019 that he can realistically make a dent in 2025. Hes a marmite politician, which you might get away with if its 50/50, but with him its more 80/20 against him. He also has a habit of giving his enemies all the ammo they need.

If you really believe in an alternative to the shit weve got on offer from Labour, then Corbyn shouldn't make you hesitate. This is part of the problem. That mentality has to be shelved in order for change to happen. Let the media fuelled perception of one man put you off and we'll be forever saddled with genocide supporting, NHS destroying, wealthy backers controlled fuckwits who give no shits about ordinary people.

'Politics is the art of getting things done'

The crank left - Benn, Foot, Corbyn etc, have always talked a good game. The problem is that actually delivering change involves the messy nature of compromise and working with thoise you may disagree with. And when faced with the messy language of compromise they will *always* prioritise their ideological purity over the common good.

Did people disagree with him, within the party, yes, of course. Is the argument then that JC can only succeed as long as nobody opposes him? Because that rather sinks the idea that he can deliver fundamental change, doesnt it?

Who has said he'll deliver fundamental change?

I think he will at the very least give Starmer something to think about unless he wants to haemorrhage all that support to JC's party, and that can only be a good thing cor everyone when politics is so heavily right wing minded at the moment.
