Also, if you buy it before administration you assume all the debt. I'd rather we didn't own the debt accumulated by Macquarie.

They could put them into special administration to avoid that. Not that debt is an issue to the UK govt anyway.

But that’s still 1/23. Hardly renationalising water for a quid. Also increasing government debt does have consequences, doing it at arms length with the debt separate might be more feasible, Irish Water is like that I think.
