Keir Starmer at it again..

Farage has managed this for years. His supporters lap it up.
Agreed, but it's always a derivative of the same single issue that appeals to a certain band of people. It's why I do t think we'll have a Farage lead government that isn't a Tory combo

I agree. But this all applies (in reverse) to Reform/UKIP but they've managed to become an important part of UK politics.

The same could happen with the Greens.

I don't think it does apply though, unfortunately.

A lot of what Reform/UKIP do is legitimised as just 'very conservative/patriotic', whereas the media and sections of the electorate freak out more at 'lefty/woke' stuff

I agree regarding the media, and the Greens wouldn't get the same weight behind them.

The Green's would need to push an anti facsict/racism line and really go at it, not sure they'd have the stomach for that though as it'd get pretty horrible.

It's a tough one; they're a party that has an opportunity to present a really positive offer, so getting dragged into culture wars stuff can easily take up all your messaging

I mean, both of Corbyn's manifestos were fully 'costed' 🙄 but many have been gaslit into thinking govts can't do anything. I've even seen people on here argue in favour of having their own state pension cut.😂

Reform look to have won the Runcorn seat by 4 votes.

Recount underway

Should be a wake up call for the many who don't think Reform have a chance of winning the next election. The country is heading down a hardline right wing route and these c***s will likely be in power in four years time.
4 days is a long time , 4 years is an eternity . Reform will make plenty of mistakes between now and then . They don't have the party structure or discipline that is needed to make it happen .

Labours election win was completely built on sand, and the tides been coming in since the day they won.

And labour have another four years of continuing to do what they're doing, which is going really well so far...

Andrea Jenkyns winning a Mayor role is annoying.
Do people not remember her at all?

Aaron Banks losing is a bright spot though in 1 of the 3 mayor seats Labour did hold onto.

Results for Shropshire dripping through and looks look like the Tories (current Council) being smacked around and Lib Dems beating Reform.

A lot of 2nd places for Reform.

Labour getting some properly shit numbers but they struggle in this area anyway.

Tice and Farage are basically saying to working class people the same thing as Musk and Trump; you're paying through the nose for everything and it's all going on 'woke bollocks' and housing immigrants rather than stuff that helps you in your day to day standard of life. It's cutting through as well, but you probably have to speak to some working class people to know that

A sitting independent won in our constituency with 383, 1 more than the Reform candidate. Lib Dems 3rd on 202, Conservative got 181, Labour 27 and Green 15

Marina Hyde in The Guardian with the best line of the day:-

Is Farage’s win a new dawn? We could ask Labour, but they’re still fast asleep.
