Live Match Discussion 2024/25

They should enjoy it whilst it lasts, they will be whipping boys for PSG in the next round.

Madness in Madrid.

Lenglet lucky not to see red for pulling Mbappe down for a penalty, clearly no attempt to play the ball, then Vinicius smashes one of the worst penalties you'll ever see miles high and wide.

Every time I see Sorloth he is an absolute donkey. Immobile and can barely trap a ball. Atleti basically given up attacking with him.

Whether or not this extra-time produces a goal or not I find extra-time so dull, players are knackered. I'd get rid.

Wow this Asensio is the cunt of all cunts. He’s like Alba, Busquets and any other pep era Barca player rolled into one

Oh good my favourite club has won on penalties
To add Atletico being knocked out isn’t too distressing though.
If both clubs were people they’d be arseholes for different reasons.

Does Alvarez kick it twice? Probably but not conclusive so can’t see how VAR should’ve interfered

Just seen a super slo-mo on TNT Twitter and the ball doesn’t deviate at all. As you say chances are there was contact but don’t think it can be proved of the ball doesn’t move.

I couldn’t see it at the time but we only got one replay and McManaman said “ah he hits it twice” so assumed I’d just missed it. Clearly not though!

Was hard to tell on that replay, didn't look like his standing foot slipped far enough to hit the ball before he struck it so can only assume that slid sort of followed through and he ended up essentially playing the ball back off his standing foot as he slipped.

Yeah I’ve hunted another replay and the behind the goal shows him hitting of his left which is probably what makes it go so high. Normally in that scenario they get blazed over the bar so never an issue to analyse.

Ahhhh the shithouse derby. Bournemouth and Brentford, two teams who have managed to recruit well beyond their means and managed to be safe since Christmas and pushing for Europe. Beggars belief!🤨

Simon Hooper really is a shocking ref, pretty obvious that Doku is jumping out the way of a tackle as opposed to buying a free kick.

You could have put virtually any PL team out there instead of Liverpool and they'd have made more of a game of it. Is Salah even playing? Jota and Diaz have been truly awful as well.
